R's CS - Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature

Young Ape
I recently started smoking cigars less than two weeks ago. I am keeping a cigar dairy here so that I can remember, and write down my thoughts from them after I’ve had some time to reflect. I’m still relatively new to this, but I hope after time I can better appreciate a fine cigar.

Number 1 - Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature
Purchased from local B&M, roughly $8
(Should have taken a picture first but I got excited and forgot)

Appearance and Presentation of Cigar: Excellent
Wrapper color and Packaging: Natural color, Excellent Packaging
Lighting and Burning Properties: Easy toast, nice burn
Even initial light, even burn, burn fast or slow: Uneven initial light, uneven burn for first third, medium burn
Draw: Good, slightly tight in the beginning and a few buffs in the middle
Taste: Excellent

First Third:
When I took my first draw, it was so light yet flavorful; I knew I was in for a treat. It was slightly sweat and had no lingering aftertaste for the first few puffs. Later, it had a light leather taste along a sweet than a smooth creaminess as a finish.

Second Third:
The flavors changed quite a bit while retaining bits of what the first third was like. The flavor intensified, the leather flavor strengthen, and a hint of nuts. As I continued, the nutty flavor increased, and I tasted a little bit of chocolate. My lips tasted slightly sweet.

Last Third:
The sweetness still lingered there, but it was much lighter than the previous two thirds. The nutty flavor stayed the same, and the chocolate flavor increased. Than, about 2 inches from my finger, something happened and the nuts and chocolate disappeared into dark, black coffee but without the bitterness. This was rather interesting as I would have never imaged comparing a cigar to a pot of well brewed coffee but there it was. I smoked it until my fingers were starting to singe.

Final Thoughts:
This was good. I’ve only had 4 or 5 cigars before this, but I could easily tell that this cigar was a premium cigar. I will definitely be looking to purchase more of these.

Possible Next Cigar: Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic

Nice review, it was spot-on. The Hemingway line is a great cigar; one of my favorites. It has a very light but complex taste - it's just a nice, relaxing smoke. Love these :tu
