Sancho Panza ?

"Year of foundation: 1852
Tobacco Country: Cuba
Tobacco Procedence: Vuelta Abajo
Factory: Romeo y Julieta

Named for the rustic squire to Don Quixote in Miguel de Cervantes' famous 1605 novel of the same name, this very old brand was originated by Emilio Ahmsted in 1852. It is much admired for the larger sizes in its range, including the enormous Sanchos and the shaped-head Belicosos. Sancho Panza cigars are medium-bodied and are all handmade."

Aren't R&J's made by Altadis? If so, Altadis does not show Sancho Panza's as one of their brands. Just curious.

b128thopen is referring to the original Cuban brand. If you're looking for information on the Honduran version they're crafted under the direction of Estelo Padrón. Not too shabby for such a cheap smoke.

The non Cuban Sancho Panza cigar is marketed by General Cigar or more properly its parent company, Swedish Match.

Thanks men. After much searching I also found that the Honduran version is made by General Cigar under the direction of Estelo Padrón. I've heard much good about them here. What's the difference between the regular, double maduro, and extra fuerte as far as taste?

As far as taste goes I have only had the Double Maduro and it was quite a tasty smoke for the price. Hints of your traditional maduro flavors of coffee, chocolate, and general sweetness were present. My only issue with them is the fact their cap is rather crappy and I have had the entire cigar unravel before my eyes. That was heartbreaking, lol.

Personal taste. I like both the DBL Maddy and Natural. The E.F. not so much :)

I've smoked through 4 boxes of EF's in the last couple months.
I love em. Dee-licious. :tu
The double maduro is awesome, too. :)

Mostly strength of flavor and body. I'm a big fan of the Extra Fuerte. Don't be scared off by the name -- it's not very "fuerte," just a medium to full, delicious well-made cigar at a great price. One of the best values out there, IMHO.

The Double Maduro is a little sweeter, coffee-like flavor - like most maduros. The Extra Fuerte, is IMO, much tastier and has a little cinnamon-y spice and is a little fuller. I haven't tried the original, beause I can't get my hands off the Extra Fuerte...
