Taboo Limited Reserve Maduro

You obviously have a true talent for the taste of cigars, i find it hard to distinguish all the taste.

I love the taboo cigar line when i am not smokeing cc's, I have found them to be very enjoyable.

Great review keep it up and I look forward to smoking the LR's soon.

Thanks for the encouragement! I just kinda say whatever I taste. Even if it sounds weird or foreign, I just say whatever I taste. Familiarity I guess. Thanks again man!

Great blog...I enjoyed your review...I have a couple resting in my humi now and I am looking forward to sampling them ....maybe this week end.

I have bookmarked your blog as it looks very interesting. I smoked my first Taboo LR maduro robusto today and very much enjoyed it. Great construction, an ash that held on like a crowbar for two inches easy, and a wonderful spicy taste while remaining nice and smooth. :tu

I had an LR Maduro figurado last night. Perfect burn and construction and what a great tasty smoke! :tu

I didn't care for this cigar. I had the figurado.

Here are some of the problems I had with it:
1) Pretty tight draw
2) Wrapper was starting to come apart
3) Wrapper Split about 1/2 - 3/4 through the cigar.
4) Tasted pretty one-dimensional

I normally like Taboo cigars, but I just didn't care for this one. I am hoping the Connecticut and the other wrapper are better.

Yes, Dan let me know of this yesterday. Cutting his cigar down a little more probably would have solved the draw problem, I don't know, I wasn't there. I will hook our Brother up though. I sent him a pm.

So, I called the factory yesterday and discussed the draw problem. I did not bring up any wrapper issue because we have yet to see this on the local level until he sent me a pm yesterday. I'm confident 99.5% of the wrappers will be fine.

It is now about two weeks since we received the LR's and I have averaged 3-4 of these a day. Mostly Conn and Havana. Here are some tips on the Torpedo and the Figurado that I think are important and because the Torpedo has a longer than normal neck than most Torps, I am including the Torpedo in this.

Clip a good full 1/2"+ off the Torp and especially the Figurado for the best draw. If you cut enough off, 90%+ of you will have a good draw. If you don't get a good draw, try cutting another 1/4". There is no need to cut the foot on the Figurado. 98% of any plug on these two sizes will be in the head of the cigar. This should solve any potential draw issues.

Maduro LR one Dimensional?
Yes, but so is Ashton Maduro, Padron 1000series maduro and several other good maduros.
Most of the Taboo blends are NOT one dimensional and we are not use to this since we have been smoking so many Twist and SFO, SFBC and HSG. We have become spoiled with such flavorful cigars and we don't know what to think anymore if the flavor profile doesn't change on us three or four times or more. ha:D

If any of you have any questions, please call and ask for me. I would love to answer your questions.
