Taboo LR Connecticut Figurado

I just finished my first Taboo LR Connecticut Figurado. First of all, let me say that this is a beautiful cigar. I don't think the construction could have been any better. The draw was very nice, if perhaps a little loose. The cigar lit easily with the "nub" at the foot of the cigar. The first third burned a little crooked, but once it got about an inch into the fat part of the cigar it evened itself out. The flavor of the first third is pretty mild. I dropped the first ash at about 2 inches. Then the cigar seemed to pick up some spice and earth tones. The burn remained razor sharp. The final third seemed to gain a bit more spice, and the vitamin N became more noticable. I smoked the cigar right down to my fingertips.

If I have one negative comment, it is that the cigar only lasted about 50 minutes. I am not a hard puffer, and would have thought that a cigar of this size would have lasted longer. This isn't a show stopper for me, just an observation.

Rob, have you considered offering these figurados in a smaller vitola? I'd think a similar cigar in, say, a 4 1/2" x 48 would fly off the shelves.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable cigar. Well recommended.

Basically like the size and shape of a AF Short Story?
Exactly. Or perhaps the "Best Seller." Whatever they could work out with the people who make the cigars for them that would be in a vitola about that size. I think it would be an awesome seller.

Yes, but before we do any new vitolas, I would like to see which of the three new LR blends are going to do well. I may end up dropping one of the three. Too early to tell.
I almost did these in a corona, but I did the new Dominican Maduro in the corona instead. I agree with your thinking on this.

Thank you for taking your time to review. This blend is very hot with my locals. may not last long.

I just smoked a second Taboo LR Connecticut figurado, so I could have a fuller idea of what this cigar offers. This cigar seemed sharper, more peppery, than yesterdays. The first inch or so was particularly peppery. Once I got into the fat part of the cigar it mellowed out. The ash hung on for over 2" before I dropped it. The cigar produces copious smoke. The main body of the cigar has flavors of unsweetened tea, light pepper, and earth. About 2/3 into the cigar it seemed to get sharp again, so I purged it. Then it settled into a nice medium bodied flavor of strong tea and earth. I liked the final third the best. Again I smoked it down to my fingertips. Overall I like this cigar, but I'm interested to try the torp and robusto, which I hope may have a rounder flavor profile.
