D'oh -1 for the title punctuation...
So the girlfriend and I crashed at a buddies house Saturday because I had to change the tranny pan gasket and a temp sensor on her car. I had no smoking restrictions like I had at home, so I decided I was going to make the best use of it and try to smoke a few cigars.
I rolled out of bed at 7:30 and went to see what looked good for a morning smoke, since I have pretty much no idea what any of my cigars (newby smoker) are like, I chose one randomly. There was a little cigar in there by the name of Vega Talanga. From further research I believe it was a corona size, basically long a slender. I thought it would be a good, quick smoke...
Wiping the my eyes I stumble outside to fire this little guy up. The stick felt quite dense to the touch which was somewhat suprising, nixed the cap and I was ready to go! It sparked quite easily, probably due to the small size. What I wasn't expecting was how this the first puff burst with a strong kick to the face. My eyes sprang wide as it cut through the layer of morning sludge and stale soda caking my tongue. This little thing was certainly an eye opener. I can't say it was unenjoyable, just much much more potent then I was expecting and probably ready for. After burning through an inch or so I tried to practice a little smoke through the nose... Wowza, sensations lanced through my nasal cavity like an icepick. I think it was just a sensory short overload. I do recall it being, well all that comes to mind is spiciness. It almost felt like a boxing match... I would take a taste get smacked and about 3/4 of the way my head was swimming. By the time I finished this thing up I need to hit the RR for the morning break. OMG I was sitting there like I was hung over, sweating up a storm laying against the wall to feel any kind of coolness. I couldn't get off the pot for about 45 minutes unless I wanted to crawl out.
I had no idea something so small could beat my ass so bad. I wanted to write about this sooner but I wasn't able too so a lot of the specifics are lost to me now. I think I was so overwhelmed I didn't know if I liked it or not. I believe I came away with a general impression that it wasn't bad if worked into, less the serious head games. If I have any more they are going to have to sit it out for awhile till I can work up to something of that caliber.
So if any of you true newbies find one of these little guys watch out, you may be picking yourself up off the floor. I think this stick snuck it's way into my Humi through the CI brown bag sampler if anyone has picked that up recently, I ordered 2 of the bags on 2 different orders and they seemed to be the same.
Soon I hope to write up about the Graycliff 1666 and the Victor Sinclar series 55 Corojo I was able to burn Saturday as well, assuming I can remember anythign by then. Hope you guys are havin a great weekend.
