What to do with all those singles?

kayaker

Come get some!!!
I'm looking for some advise here. I've read that it is good to isolate different brand cigars from each other to avoid odour contamination.

The problem is I only have a 70-100 count humi and lots of singles of different brands. The most I have of any one stick is 6 and only a few more pairs.

What is the best way to store all the different singles? A number of them are in cello, but there are still a bunch that are not.

What do I do?

I would only worry about seperating any flavored cigars from the rest. Although some folks will say they mix them and have no issues. Its really up to you.

Thanks. None of them are flavoured.

I'm just starting to build my small stockpile and want to do it right.

it's my impression that it takes months or years for flavors to mingle between cigars that are touching. i would think that with some kind of simple rotation, you should be able to avoid any undesireable effects. I was initially worried about my singles "contaminating" each other, but then I realized that I poke around and play in my humidor so much, that there's virtually no chance of any 2 cigars sitting next to each other untouched for any lengthy amount of time. just my $0.02

You know the quick short-term solution is to smoke them :ss

Like others have said, no real worries about 'contamination' of smokes :tu

:tpd: Smoke 'em or buy a cooler and then store them in appropriate sized cigar boxes within the cooler!!!

My cooler and VinoTemp are full of singles!!! I put all of them with there appropriate sized friends into wooden cigar boxes!!!:2

OK, I can take the hint:ss.

I will do the best I can with smoking them and getting boxes. That was the point of the trades and buying the samplers.

I just don't smoke as often as some of you. I'll get working on it.:tu

I am in the same boat, all I have is singles. No flavored though, so I just keep 'em all together, I do try to keep brands close together though

Don't sweat it. When I first started out out, I had a LOT of different types of sticks in my 65 count and they all smoked well. I have no problem storing them the same way today. :tu

I thinking of separating all my singles from now on. The damn things keep multiplying. I buy them bigger houses and they still fill it up. Where will it all end? :D

BTW the flavor is not effected by the cohabitation.

Ditto what most say on here. I have had humidors filled with different brands ( non flavored ) and experienced no harm. Even have Opus Cigars mixed with other brands over a few years and they still smoke and taste like an Opus.
