Executive vs Stratus

Executive vs Stratus
Executive vs Stratus
I have been given the opportunity by South Side Cigar's very own Dave Hahn to do a side by side review of these two items. I currently own two of the Xikar Executives and getting a chance to review the Blazer Stratus is an honor. (Please be gentle as I'm not the most eloquent writer)
Looks: Xikar
The Xikar Executive has a shinier finish, larger company logo on the side and also a smaller logo on the opening of the flame hatch, which makes the torch lighter a bit more appealing to me.
The Blazer Stratus has more of a dull gun metal finish with a smaller logo on the side, no logo in the flame hatch and small round rubber grips on the trigger.
Weight: TIE
Both lighter weight in exactly the same.
Feel: Blazer
The Blazer Stratus has the rubber grips on the trigger which make it a bit easier to handle.
The Xikar Executive has inverted bumps on the trigger with no extra grip.
Torch Size: Blazer
The Blazer Stratus has a higher torch when you turn the dial underneath all the way to the "+" symbol.
Flame Dial: TIE
Both lighters have the same turn dial underneath the torch lighter for easy refueling and torch height preference.
Cost:TIE
Both can be found at retail for $19.99.
Packaging: Blazer
The Blazer Stratus as do all Blazers comes in a nice black (Maybe leather) case that can be used as a display.
The Xikar Executive comes in a fancy designed blue cardboard case.
Warranty: Xikar
All Xikars comes with a lifetime warranty.
Blazer products offer a 1 year manufacturers warranty from date of purchase.
Extras: Xikar
The Xikar website, along with a small pamphlet inside the case offers a free sheath for their products.
The Blazer company does not offer anything else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not here to promote either torch lighter but I hoped that my review can shed some light to those thinking of purchasing one of these products.
Thanks again Dave for allowing me to do a side by side review of both products.
*Side note* Dave is currently offering a group buy LINK. Please support this BOTL as he has been a wonderful member of this community offering great products and service.
