Hello everyone. My name is Dan and I have recently begun my rapid decent down the slippery slope that is cigar smoking. A couple of my friends smoke cigars (and LOVE it) and after trying my first "real" cigar a couple weeks ago (Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Perfecto:dr) up north over the holiday weekend, suffice it to say, I'm hooked. As I had no prior knowledge of anything cigar before a couple of weeks ago (never smoked cigars, cigarettes, etc. in the past), I've been spending a fair amount of my free time doing research and attempting to get myself up to speed in the cigar world. I've tried my best to read many of the sticky threads here as well to further familiarize myself with the forum etiquette before making any posts that completely label me as a foolish noobie.

I've already made several small purchases which include:

50 count Humidor w/rookie glass top - I can already tell its WAY TOO SMALL!
Z-Plus Butane Zippo insert
Palio Cutter
RH Beads for the Humidor
5 Pack Padrun Churhills
5 Pack Oliva Special 'S'
5 Pack Gurkha Class Regent
5 Pack Romeo y Julieta Bully
5 Pack Rocky Patel The Edge

All of these purchases I've made online through various websites (CI, cBid, Famous Smoke Shop, Heartfelt Industries, etc.), and I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival (between tomorrow and next week). I figured it to be a good idea to get a small variaty to start, and also purchase enough cigars to get my humidor at a decent capacity.

Other than that, a little personal information about myself - I'm a south eastern Michigander, a member of a local rock band called 40 Helmet (Ginocide, a member of this community, pointed me to the Club Stogie; he also plays in the band), I'm into the martial arts (2nd degree black belt in Tracy's Chinese Kenpo), I ride a motor cycle, I recently purchased a new home, I'm recently engaged, I'm 26 years old, and I'm a pieces. I think that about sums it up.

Other than that, I'm really looking forward to getting more involved in this website and conversing with all of you. It now occurs to me that this may start to take over my life....:ss

Welcome to the Club, Dan. It's good to have you here. If you get a chance, a good place to start would be the Newbie Sampler Trade V thread. It sounds like you've started with a good cigar grouping. In the NST thread, you'll have the opportunity to interact with an experienced FTG (Friendly Trading Gorilla) and trade for some smokes that you may not have tried yet. Check it out if you can:
