Picked this one up this afternoon at my local B&M.
Price: $8.25
Origin: Nicaragua
Construction: Appearance wise, Fantastic. Somewhat veiny on the wrapper, but smooth to the touch. Triple Cap...and an oily sheen. This cigar feels great in your hand. :tu
Pre-Light: After the clip, kinda had some Cinnamon flavors and a general Barnyard type flavor. Firm Cigar, but a nice draw.
Light Up: Toasty smell. Really nice. :tu
1st 3rd: Peppery. Didn't taste anything else really. It started to burn a bit funny from the get go...I wanted to see if it would self correct. It did, but then went back to a slight run on one side.
2nd 3rd: Okay. Great flavor. Predominately Nuts and Wood. It tasted like roasted peanuts to me. That flavor continued to be consistent throughout the cigar. I wouldn't really call the burn on this stick a "problem", it just didn't hold a "razor" burn at all. I did touch things up at the 30 minute or so mark, but it still wanted to run on me afterwards...It looked like it wanted to self correct, only to do its own thing after it deceived me.
Final Third: Same flavor profile. Nuts and wood. I love the flavor, but this, for me at least, I wouldn't call a complex cigar in the flavor department. Burn issues are still there, but nothing to get worried about.
Finish: Things got a bit bitter toward the end. I let this one before it burned my fingers.
Overall Ash: Funny. Started out solid White, and turned to a flakey grayish ash. 1st 3rd held very well.
Overall: Medium to Full. More Medium IMO. Good Flavors, but not worth the $8.25 price tag I paid...But I live in Los Angeles, so we get screwed on the prices. Not a real complex cigar, but I would smoke another. Just not at the price I paid.
I need to try one of the Black Labels. :ss
