Great lounge with a HUGE selection. All the big boys are there, OpusX, God of Fire, Padron, and Davidoff.
Very well organized and a very clean and relaxing environment.

Peter is right. LaGrange is 96th avenue, and 94th avenue is the next major street east of LaGrange. Essentially, this is probably just south of Orland Square Mall on 94th Ave (probably near the mini-mall that has the Mario Tricocci in it - don't ask). My wife is from Tinley Park and her parents still live there so I know the area pretty well. Good to know that there is a cigar lounge out there...I sometimes enjoy a nice cigar with my father-in-law.

LOL! Probably not. Either way, I'll be in bed in 15 minutes anyway! I could really go for a cigar, though...

This place is over priced. His second store at 199th and LaGrange is also over priced. If you want high quality smokes that are fairly priced, go to Will County Tobacco located at 191st and LaGrange next to BP. It is small on the outside and ugly inside, but great smokes at great prices. If you are an everyday smoker. It is a must see. Tell Eddie CigarMonkey sent you and recieve a free cigar!

This is the only B&M I ever got an Opus X from. I asked and they had 4 hidden somewhere, they even gave me the cigar box it came in for free, for taking the last cigars. I really have to find time to go up there again. I'm in Indiana so it's a bit of a drive. Best selection I've ever seen though.

I've never been and I get out that way quite often my inlaws live in Beverly. I missed when Don Pepin was there for a little tasting over the summer.

This place is great. If anyone ever wants to meet out there on a weekend for a smoke, I'll join you. I live in the city and can get out there in 25 minutes non-rush times. Great humidor, good espresso, flat screens and comfy chairs. They're pretty darn good folks too.
As for the prices, they're not too bad.. msrp from what I can tell.

Come smoke with me at Bull and Bear in downtown Naperville!!!!
Belicoso is too uppity for me. I prefer relaxing in an environment where I can BS and not be throwing around $$ figures or bragging about cars/houses/mistresses.
Great humidor and furniture though! lots of $$$$ put into this place.

Sorry didn't see this till today and I beleive I wasn't too far from there yesterday while I was at Papadeaux's. I never really pay attention to what people are saying in the place I just go there because it has a good selection and is comfy. Just hang out with friends and relax there it definitly isn't where I do most of my purchasing. I may have to check out that bull and bear place I've never heard of it. BTW belicosos is having some RP event March 28th I believe I think I may stop in there that day. I like the decades and just picked up a box each of the vintage 90 and 92's

This is one of my favorite places to hang out and smoke with friends. Comfortable and friendly environment. Very large humidor with an impressive selection of smokes. I wouldn't fill my cabinet with boxes purchased from here, I buy mostly online. Although they do run some nice sales occasionally.

Sorry to come to the thread late...but we've just decided to move to Orland...
Is Belicoso just a cigar store that has a smoking area, or is it also a membership club?
Thanks in advance...

hehehe not at Belicoso...
But at Bull and Bear in Naperville there is no membership fee...but be kind to the store owners and buy something before cracking out your travel humi to smoke your collection!
It (Belicosos) looks like a very nice place, but the uppity attitude seems to gush from the seams; or as the people that go there to visit tell me. Then again, I only hear this second hand. It is a major drive for me to go there and experience it on my own.
I can't really comment.

Thanks for the responses!
With the changes in the smoking laws, it seems some of the tobacco stores are starting membership clubs - at the Oak Brook Tobacco Company in the Oak Brook Shopping center, they've opened Club Fumare in the basement. When I checked about 5 months ago, they were asking $600/year, but then again, you don't get the dirty look when you whip out the travel humidor. :-)
Than, I do have to agree, the unfortunate downside of the reduced number of places to enjoy a cigar is that it is hard to find a place where guys just enjoy a smoke and don't try to impress one another...I do find if you let them get that off their chest, they aren't all bad.
I remember taking a cruise once on the RSSC Mariner and I went to the smoking lounge one day - there were 2 guys there, a retired Colonel, and a retired gentleman from Louisiana who had built his own business selling supplies for opening old oil wells. At first there was the necessary trip to that little Mexican town of Macho Bravado, but after we got that out of the way, they were great guys. We ended up having a daily 2pm session to smoke and solve all the problems of the world. And the Colonel had some great stories about Westmoreland...

I was under the impression that it is standard man practice to shake the trees, slap the ground, and pound ones chest to assert manliness and coolness, kind of like a primal hand shake. :r I actually love belicoso. It's got good selection, alright prices for a B&M and is comfortable (I do wish their lounge was bigger though). I don't think I've ever noticed anyone really trying to impress anyone there. However, when I go I'm with a group of friends and don't pay much attention to anything else. In fact I'll be up there Friday sometime late afternoon.

It's a nice shop, with a wide range of cigars. They get alot of the rare stuff too. I've never felt that they were 'uppity' especially in their Frankfort store, Tobacco House. But i'll admit I don't spend too much time in the Bellicoso, mainly when they have weekend cigar reps. I met Rocky Patel there last time he came by. The free soda and espresso is a nice touch, and makes their slightly higher prices worth it if you are gonna smoke in the store. But, personally, I refuse to shop in Cook County as much as possible, so usually buy locally from Bull and Bear, Tobacco House, or a small shop up north (name escapes me).
I hate to bring this up but, take a good look at your cigars before buying. I noticed some (very few) issues at Tobacco House, and they move stock back and forth to the Bellicoso. Since I burn my B&M stuff right away and only store online purchases, I don't have to worry about infecting my other sticks.
