It's great to see such an active forum. I’m in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Arlington, VA with the Army until I return to <ST1:pColorado Springs, CO at the end of November. I'm pretty new to cigars, but have been learning as much as I can for the past two months. I have tried several different cigars so far and am looking forward to experiencing a lot more. I have trouble telling cigars apart, but I expect to get better at it. Right now I can only tell whether I like/dislike the cigar and whether I feel it is mild/medium/full bodied. I’ve been trying to stick with the mild-medium bodied cigars so far, based on my preferences and the guidance I’ve found in other cigar forums. Hopefully, I’ll eventually be able to notice the subtle hints of different flavors that I see other people discuss within the various forums.

I do not have a humidor yet, but I have made some recent accessory purchases. So far I have bought a Xikar Xi cutter, Xikar Executive lighter and a 5-stick Cigar Caddy. I want to hold off on purchasing a humidor until I get back to CO. I’m lucky enough to have a decent cigar store about 300 meters from my apartment in Arlington, so I should be able to get by without a humidor until I return home.

It’s great to meet all of you and I look forward to sharing my cigar learning experiences with you.

You and I are neighbors, at the moment, as I live in Fairfax VA... There are a few of us in the D.C. area but the key word being FEW...
In any case, welcome and have fun.

Mike - Welcome to Club Stogie. You're in the right place. If you would like to experience a lot more cigars, let me suggest that you visit the Newbie Sampler Trade V thread. It's a great place to meet fellow BOTL and trade for some sticks that you may not have tried yet. Here is a link for convenience:

The PIF threads are great also. Enjoy your stay! :ss
