There I was sitting in my den and I started smelling something really bad. I thought it was my twin grandsons soiling their diapers. Nope. It was the Saints at Tampa Bay. AND I'M A SAINTS FAN!

What a change from last season. Hope they change that around soon.

They just can't be as bad as they have looked the past two weeks... Last year they had the #1 offense in the NFL, and all of those players returned this year. I am just baffled as to what is going on. This first home game can't come soon enough. I think thats what they really need to bounce back. Hopefully all the Saints fans haven't gone back into hiding yet :o(

The teams playing them have made the necessary adjustments.
some factors:
The other coaches are on to Sean Payton
Deuce is wearing down
Bush has not had that explosive speed so far
The high of being the displaced team is gone

Some other factors:
The offensive line is not doing it's job. This makes it harder for Brees, McAllister and Bush to do their job.
The coaches aren't using Duece and Bush on the field together. This means the defense can key on who on the field at the time.
The offense hasn't found the solution to the "Tampa 2" defense.
Maybe the offense has too many weapons and is trying to spread it around too much. Could create an inefficient offense that way.
The defensive secondary is NOT DOING THEIR JOB. IMHO I would start looking at available cornebacks and safeties and start dumping the ones we currently have. Jason David is making "Toast" Thomas look good.

The Saints are doing Bush a great disservice in my opinion. The guy hasn't even learned to be an NFL running back yet, and you're playing all kinds of games and trick plays with him, splitting him as a wideout, putting him in the slot.........uhhh....yah:confused:
The Saints should let him develop as a running back first, AFTER he shows he can do that, then Sean Payton can "wow" as all with his artistic genius.
Bush needs to spend time doing nothing but running the ball and learning his role. First and foremost, as they were saying on some of the post game shows, HIT THE HOLE.
Stop dancing around and trying to show the world what a "great athlete" you are. We've already seen the Michael Vick show. A lot of us weren't impressed by it.
of course just my opinion.

Yeah. I think Bush is about where he was at this time last year. Trying to hard to make anything happen.
And Duece fumbling twice like he did was very unusual for him.

At least they tried to make a game of it last night. The defence played a decent game for most of three quarters and the offense found itself for a couple of drives.
I think the biggest problem is the offensive line at this point. Instead of coming together as a cohesive unit like last year, they look more like Jello. Brees' fumble was because of a lack of protection and two of the interceptions were because he was pressured into throwing bad passes.
Call the voodoo priestess and resurrect those awards from last year! Burying them put a hex on the team!

And now Deuce is most likely out for the season. If you guys don't turn it around soon, it will be a long season.

It's not just us. Look at all the teams that had winning seasons last year that are struggling now for various reasons - Chicago, San Diego for example. And then there is the large number of major injuries this year.
That being said, the Saints did show signs of life last night.

visions of Mora and Haslett dance in my head...STRONG first seasons, with a horrible sophomore season...and downhill until termination. At least each predecessor seems to do better. As long as our next coach can get us to the Super Bowl in his first season, we'll be great! :tu
