Wow! This is getting interesting.

Being a Yankees fan for 41 years, I can't remember a penant race like this since the 1970s Bucky Dent years.

Hard to believe the Yanks were 14 games back a couple months ago.

What a collapse on the part of the Red Sox, but I still think they will pull off the AL East race, then lose in the playoffs.

Losing in the playoffs is Red Sox protocol...

And at a game and a half back the yanks could easily pull ahead and bring tears to boston!

So is choking in August, but they have waited until September this year.

Same old same old!! O's usually start pretty strong and I get to watch them fade mid-season. Than I get to look forward to late season when the Sox are sure to disappoint. Those damn yankees are like vampires (in more ways than one) - when will my other teams learn. When you have them down, you better put a stake in their heart and cut off their head, otherwise they are gonna come back and bite ya. Happens almost every year, like clockwork!!

Cheers,

BillyBarue

As a Yankee fan I am enjoying this to no end! I am not certain that they Yankees will win the AL East, but watching Red Sox Nation sweat is a wonderful thing.

The question I would ask Red Sox fans is: Where's Manny? :po

Been a Yankee fan since the 50's. This year is pretty cool especially considering the Sox and Yanks have the 2nd and 4th best records in baseball.

Unfortunately the Yankees are losing 4-0 in the 8th right now.

Props to the Red Sox. Look forward to a Yankee -v- Red Sox ALCS, that is if we both are lucky to get there. Enjoy the AL EAST crown. :tu

Funny how people are calling what the Red Sox did a "collapse". They've maintained the best record in baseball on and off for the entire season and won the division. Some collapse :ss Maybe the fact that the yanks caught up was because of their unbelievable post all star break record as opposed to a "collapse"? Just my :2 The Mets are a collapse....The Red Sox MLB leading record is not IMO.

The Yankees had their injuries at the start of the year, and the Sox near the end and backed into the playoffs. The Sox started getting some players back this week, including Manny. Hopefully it will set them up for a good playoff run. I think the Yanks have more momentum though. But getting past the first round will be tough for both teams.

This may end up being a "Watch out what you wish for" experience but I'm much happier as a Yankee fan with my team playing Cleveland. It's a one hour plane ride with no jetlag and doesn't have the bad postseason memories for the Yankees that Anaheim has. Let the Red Sox have the Angels.

Most importantly, Please GOD...Let the Yankees win the ALDS cause I just got a ticket for the ALCS at Yankee Stadium!:ss

I will make a couple trips up to NYC if the Yanks make the Division series as my brother has season tix.

I also am not overly worried about Cleveland and prefer them to Anaheim.

The Red Sox almost blew a 14 game lead to the Yankees. Now, while it isn't quite like what the Metroploitans have done, but it isn't far from it. If you are a Red Sox fan and you are happy with the way your team is playing baseball going into the Playoffs, more power to you. Boston is a good team, but right now they are struggling.

I am glad the Red Sox draw the Angels and the Yankees get the Indians. Hopefully both teams will win and we'll have a Yankee -v- Red Sox ALCS. Regadless, it has been an entertaining last month of the regular season for both leagues and October promises to be wonderful.

Again, congratulations to the Red Sox for winning the AL East. Job well done.
