Size: 6 X 54
B&M price: $4.90
Honduran puro, Jamastran Criollo wrapper, corojo filler and binder
These are the lowest priced of the Camacho line, with online prices of $40-$80 a box and a good range of sizes. I haven't smoked a Camacho yet that I didn't like, I even like the candela. But for the record there are a few I haven't tried, the Liberty, triple maduro and 1962. Been seeing them on c bid though. :hn
Appearance: Average, a few medium sized veins in a kinda dull, dry looking wrapper. The wrapper itself looks good though, no spots or other blemishes.
Pre-light flavor/aroma: NICE. Flavor is straight tobacco and aroma is a nice soft spicy tobacco scent.
Draw: A little loose, a trait that I have noticed with a majority of Camachos I've smoked.
The first few draws of this bad boy were POTENT. In fact very similar in "strength" to the Camacho Corojo and Coyolar Puro. About 1" in this strength subsided a bit, and so did the similarities to the Corojo and Coyolar Puro.
Flavors were just NICE throughout the entire cigar, not much in the way of complexity, mostly a just plain CIGAR flavor with a little bit of spice and quite a bite in the nose. Nice aroma too. If you pick up a Camacho Havana, don't expect any "food" flavors or "subtle nuances" of this or that. This baby tastes and smells like a damn STOGIE. This is one of those cigars that will have your wife saying, "Ewww, that stinks." :D
A little bit of earthy flavor does come in at about the halfway point. The finish is short and is also where I taste the slight spiciness. I must note that this cigar really doesn't taste very "Havana" at all. But then again, how many NCs with a reference to Cuba in the name do?
A few minor touch ups to the burn, I attribute this to my B&M keeping their humidity in the low 70s.
Final thoughts:
Another winner from Camacho. There aren't many Honduran puros on the market, but the Eiroas seem to have really "cracked the code" in blending Honduran tobaccos into rich, full flavored and aromatic cigars. The low price on the Camacho Havana makes them a definite repeat for this broke ass mofo. :ss
Thanks for reading.
