This cigar measures 5 5/8" x 46 and has a slightly shiny milk chocolate colored wrapper with a couple of small veins running half to three fourths it's length, a very nice overall appearance and a good feeling sound construction. Being a little congested I was unable to detect any notable prelight aromas. After clipping the head, it had a nice test draw so I toasted the foot then fired it up. The first few draws produced generous amounts of nice white creamy smoke with a robust yet smooth taste and what I'd call a bit of a bite aftertaste not unlike what one gets from a nice strong cup of coffee.

It is a smaller ring gauge than I normally opt for and I find myself already eyeballing the first three quarters of an inch of rather flaky salt and pepper colored ash, hoping it will last an hour. I'm guessing I'll be lucky if I can get the ash to hold to full inch. I'm very much enjoying the taste of the smoke as well as it's aftertaste. I found myself somewhat intrigued rolling the cigar in my fingertips while taking note of the deep crevasses of it's ash which dropped as I pulled it closer for another draw. With the experience so far, I'd rate this as a medium bodied stick. It gives me that feeling from the base of my neck throat area to the pit of my stomach, but not at all overwhelmingly.

At just over three and a half inches left, I'm still loving the taste and aroma of what I'd call woody and leathery with a very slight hint of salt. The bite in the aftertaste has been replaced by one harder to identify for me, some spice with hint of rust or some mineral? Whatever it is I like it.

The burn has been very even and consistent, seldom varying by more than a few sixteenths of an inch in it's path down the circumference. I know I'll be nubbin this one so I just removed the band without any difficulty and thank goodness, without any of the wrapper following. I so dislike when that happens. One would think the band is cut in a length to fit multiple cigar ring gage since it overlapped by nearly a full inch.

With about a third left, the flavor is still very consistent, much like the burn. It has yet to feel hot to hold which is nice, but it has been given several short rests as I type this review. In the video review of the Tatuaje Series P here http://www.stogiereview.com/?p=203 (a fine review IMO), the reviewer refers to that cigars flavor profile having been described as flat. I would say that this is very similar, but prefer the term consistent to flat. To me flat is a term leaning more toward boring and I do not find any cigar that I enjoy this much to be the least bit boring. While the changing or variation of flavor provided by some cigars during the duration is often enjoyable, I find a cigar that remains consistently good from start to finish to be equally and exceptionally enjoyable. In that review is also mentioned the creaminess in both feeling of the smoke in your mouth and in it's taste and I very strongly agree, I find it to be very pleasing.

At just two inches left it developed a very minor burn issue, a slight v down one side just about a quarter of an inch ahead of the rest. Letting it rest in the ashtray with the side that needed to catch up turned downward, it self corrected promptly. I prefer to use this method, when it works as, opposed to burning it off to even it up.

As with any cigar one enjoys, I was wishing there was more than the inch and a quarter remaining. This one lasted from 8:45 AM 9/22/2007 to around 10:15 AM, but the frequent rests in the ashtray while I typed helped make it a longer and more enjoyable smoke for me. I enjoyed it with my morning coffee outside on the patio at 80° with an RH of 56%. If you enjoy this review half as much as I enjoyed writing it while smoking this cigar, you owe it to yourself to try one.

Lastly and most importantly, my most sincere thanks to DBall aka Dan, without whom this fine smoking experience may not have occurred. Thanks Dan, you da man! I can hardly wait to smoke the others you sent. Thanks as well to this fine vehicle of brotherhood and sisterhood we know as Club Stogie. I can't express how thankful I am for this place.

Very articulate review. I appreciate the time you put into it. I bought a box of the Angeles and am glad to hear that this size is good to go as well. Your post speaks "volumes" of this well made cigar. :tu

Thanks

Awe gee, thanks for the kind words. I have a tendency to be somewhat verbose, I was hoping it wouldn't bug anybody.

These (and all Havana VI"s) really age well too. I have a box of Victoria's that have been aging for more than a year... and they are nothing short of delicious. The Victorias are an even smaller RG (38) and smoke quite well with a nice dose of wrapper flavor. These are a definite "box buy" if one is so inclined...

Great review, I had one of these Sunday night. After trying my first Tat a couple of weeks ago, I can't get this one off my mind.

Thanks for the review... I have been wanting to try some of the Tat Havana line, after that I guess I'll have to step up and give one a try.
