What do y'all use these for? I recently purchased one to use with flake and sliced tobaccos, but upon reading some posts, flakes aren't supposed to be put in a grinder, I think.

Snuff is finely ground tobacco... maybe for that? I saw a special on the travel channel where they visited an old snuff processing factory. They had huge millstones they used to grind the tobacco into a fine powder.

You CAN grind/chop a flake, but you're right in that most people don't do that; just stuff the flake into the pipe.

if i'm thinking of the right ones, they're meant for the waccy tobaccy-2 round 1/2's that twist together w/spikes or diamond shaped posts inside?-they might be handy for larger leaf tobacco blends

I got one for grinding flake, two piece and round, but I would recommend not using it for this. It grinds very fine and the flake tobacco seems to lose something. Rub it out or roll it up, depending on which brings out the better characteristics. Anyway, after sitting on my shelf unused for two years I finally found a use for it. Grinding chuncks of rope. Works good for that
