Well I have never tried a pipe but I was reading through this part of the forum and it seems like a pipe might have something to offer me in the areas of time, and price. I love the idea of being able to set a pipe down and come back a couple hours later and relight. Well the price part is obvious. So I jump on to pipesandcigars.com and place an order for a Kaywoodie Ruff Tone and a tin of McClelland Frog Morton on the Town. I look forward to their arrival. If anyone has anything to recommend as far as tobacco goes or anything else for that matter feel free to provide me with your input.

shoot man, i haven't even got back to a briar yet!-bought 2 missouri cobs, 6 different oz's of tobacco-got a Va/Per mix, an english house blend, an aromatic mild house blend, Rattrey's red rapree, & Rattrey's black mallory-liking the Va/Per blend the best so far, had 'em up the Perique % the 2nd time-still working on being able to pack a bowl again that i don't have to use a lighter's worth of fuel on!-i've looked at some kaywoodie's too, they seem to be a good pipe for the $

Kaywoodie may be a good pipe; I didn't like the one I had, so I gave it away. I'm not sure what the price range is, but brands like Peterson and Savinelli often have lower priced pipes (or on clearance.
My 50 dollar full bent Savinelli smokes better than the ones I paid 3 times as much. I believe Peterson has some for this price; I picked up a bent Rhodesian on clearance for 60.
But, I'm sure that pipe will be great, just giving you some alternative brands to consider.
I used to buy cheaper pipes that cost from 20-40 dollars at the time, and my friends thought I was crazy. They said that one premium pipe is always better than 3 cheapies. But, tobacco is tobacco. I'm glad I listened though or I would have more pipes than I had where to put them.

:tpd: Thanks for the options I have anywhere from 80-100 stogies coming in today so I had to go with the cheaper pipe for now haha. But Im sure in time I will have a few nice pipes, a rack, ect :r
Welcome to the cliff. No such thing as a slope here.

My new job brings me to pipesandcigars doorstep every few days, and I kid you not, I was looking at that pipe( or its twin) this morning. I love my kaywoodie bulldog and will get another one soon. Probably a bent pipe this time. Russ there whips up a mean blend of pipe tobacco. mmmmm eggnog is my new favorite, along with trout stream and butternut burley. Give those a try if you want some nice aromatics. Nice pipe and enjoy it

Pipesandcigars will put together 1oz. samples, of your choice, on many of their bulk blends. That's what I did when I first started. I also picked up an inexpensive rack form them (http://store.pipesandcigars.com/6pichfira.html) and also their Pipe Gift Set-Pipe Starter Kit (http://pipesandcigars.com/pipes.html).
PS: I like their Butternut Burley too! :tu
BTW ...Welcome to the "pipe section" of CS!
