Did anyone see this numb skull freak yesterday - then have his season end due to a torn ACL because his coach was trying to restrain him? The ump could have provoked it - but he went absolutely haywire.
Anyway - the Philadelphia Phillies and their fans would like to thank him for this timely tirade.

:tpd: Absolutely... he is a locker room cancer. Bad for the game of baseball... bad for sports in general. :ss

Didn't see it. Got a link to a video?
Nevermind I found it. Any idea what transpired between him and the ump?

Didn't see the tirade but the paper said the umpire called him "a xxxx piece of xxxx". Read the article Source:BGradly tears.... (http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/padres/index.html) at this link. The guy has had problems with the umps before. The last time was his own doing when he took his batting gloves off at the plate and showed the home plate umpire up. He got thrown out. I don't know if this is the same crew or not, but there seems to be some carry over. There has never been any reason at all to doubt the first base coach Meacham, and he was quoted as saying he would have clocked the guy. Sounds like the ump was out of line this time. But I must say, from the troubles that he has been in since coming to San Diego, this is the first time that I would blame the umps.

Hmmm...that puts an interesting spin to the altercation. Bud Selig has no credibility, in my mind, to get to the bottom of this though.

I hope we don't resign him myself. He really is great with the kids and fans in the stands, always throwing them a ball and chatting with them, but his temper is unreal. He has carried the team with his hitting though (when he is healthy).

I think the umpire is quite a jackass, as we clearly see that the 1st base coach was really pissed off/surprised at whatever he said, but it's just unfortunate/stupid Bradley couldn't control himself and hurt himself. It's also funny how fragile baseball players are, haha:r
Regardless, it speaks poorly for the umpire and shows a lot of immaturity and he doesn't seem very professional. I hope he's repremanded, as well as Bradley of course.

It is funny to watch until he gets hurt. Being someone who has had knee surgery I know it is a pain in the ass. That being said, he is a terrible example for children or a fan of baseball. I don't want to say he got what he deserved, because I would never wish serious injury on anyone, but it does seem very ironic.

What apparently happened is - Bradley had struck out his previous at bat and flipped the bat in front of him. His next at bat the home plate ump asks him if he threw his bat at him. Bradley denies it and the home plate ump says another in his crew told him it was a fact. So Bradley gets a single, and asks the 1st base ump if he told the home plate ump that he had thrown his bat at him. The 1st base ump say yep - and all hell broke loose. Apparently the 1st base ump was pretty unprofessional in his conversation, but Bradley went haywire, pushing his coaches aside trying to get to him.
Like I said before - the Phillies thank him.

IMO any good he does with the kids is undone by his behavior on the field. You can't make up for being a poor sport by being friendly when it suits you. :2

This isn't the first time this POS ump has pulled this sort of BS just ask Bruce Bochy, Winters tossed him 5 times
the kicker is Winters is from San Diego & they were neighbors
Well the good news is he's been suspended 6 days till the end of the regular season
lets hope he doesn't get the chance to do any post season games as well
