Only 24 years old as well. He should have had a long life ahead of him. Hope they catch the shooter.

My thoughts are with his family, especially his young daughter.

He was on probation for brandishing (sp?) a firearm. He seems to have had a troubled childhood (law related)........He got broke into a few weeks ago too. Could possibly be some of his "past" coming back to haunt him. SAD, SAD story though.

The bullet hit an artery. He lost too much blood too fast. Given that, I'm honestly surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Gotta wonder what the real story is here, though. He was killed in what they are calling a home invasion. But there was a burglery at his house 8 days before. Seems a little suspicious to me. Maybe he pissed someone off? He did have some questionable encounters in the past, most publicly about some ATVs.

If he were on his own and lost too much blood, that wouldn't surprise me. What does surprise me is that even once he was in the hospital they couldn't do anything about it...

RIP.

I also heard he locked his wife in their room while he went to confront intruder with a machette. She heard the shots but I guess didn't see the guy. It's a sad story from all directions.

A truly sad story. Such a gifted talent. Teammates & friends said that he was turning things around in his life. Since the birth of his daughter he became a better person. RIP

My thoughts go out to his family and his child. I have questions about the entire affair but now is not the time to express the questions.

Yep - that's what they are saying. It's a wonder he even made it to the hospital - must have been a small nick. Anything larger and he would have bled out really quickly, often before any medic could get there.

A sin this had to strike such talent. He was way to young to go.

Thoughts and prayers sent to his family.

I had read he was quite a bit of a scumbag growing up. I am glad he was turning his life around. I'd like to think this was an isolated incident, but I doubt it was. None the less, his poor little girl is going to grow up without her father, that's truly sad.

I was wondering how a shot to the leg could kill someone and a friend of mine told me that bleeding from the main artery in the leg you can bleed out in 7 minutes. Not sure how true that is but sure doesn't give you much time....

Bizarre if you ask me. I am sorry to hear about the death of this athelete. I pray his wife and daughter are safe.

Just leaves me scratching my head with everything I've read.

RIP 21.

He was a pro bowler last year, and he was already having his best season this year.

Sad.

Tough story for a guy who looked to finally be turning his life around. Sad that he couldn't escape his past. It looks like he was a target, not an isolated robbery.
