I have decided to conduct a little VAPER ranking experiment by smoking these three blends exclusively for the next week. What's your ranking of these three blends? I will post my thoughts in the next few days!

I can't comment on the Filmore or tha St. James Flake, Pete, as i have not had either. But speaking to the many others that I have had, relieving Escudo of it's top spot in my rotation would be a tough nut to crack. Keep us posted.

PM me your addie Doyle:pp
escudo (my favorite tobacco of all time)
fillmore (still growing on me, had a bowl a couple nights ago - not the same as most va/pers i prefer, as it's a perique monster, but you can still taste the VAs)
st. james flake (was good, but i didn't give it much of a chance - gave the tin to someone at the hillbilly herf)

Have not had the St James Flake yet, but I really enjoyed Fillmore but I also really like Escudo.
1.Escudo
2.Fillmore
But it is pretty close.
St James Flake
Escudo
haven't tried the fillmore. I'm probably in the minority here, as far as how I rank these.

Haven't had St. James Flake, but I thoroughly enjoy both Escudo and Fillmore. I'd have to rank Escudo a bit above the Fillmore though, as I love the coins and feel that Fillmore has a stronger kick to it.

Haven't had Filmore, but smoked the other two today. IMO Escudo is just sweet with a hint of something else, probably the perique. St James Flake on the other hand is rich and buttery, creamy in a way. It gets my #1 vote. Need to buy some Filmore I guess.

Ok, I smoked two bowls of Fillmore today and I gotta say that I like it a lot, but there's a little too much perique in there for my taste. I really like exhaling VAPER blends through my nose, but this blend bordered a little too near an uncomfortable feeling during nasal exhales. It wasn't quite uncomfortable, but it was almost there! It may just be me, but I also found Fillmore to have quite a significant nicotine kick. All in all, I liked it, but it may have a little too much perique to be a daily VAPER for me. Tomorrow I am going to load up a couple bowls of the St James Flake; I am optimistic that it will send me a little more than the Fillmore.

Well, Pete sent some samples, alright. Ambushed me real good with them, too. Tag alongs included a PSD4, a Custom rolled Pepin (big flucker, too), a big a$$ Fuente Belicoso, a Tat DC, and an Ashton VSG? Don't know what to smoke first.

That Hillbilly likes the St. James Flake better than the Escudo. Havent had the Fillmore yet.

i liked the fillmore but the vas seemed muted to me. escudo is good as well but seems to not have fresh boisterous taste, it is heavy. i think the st james (mcclelland) is great. it has sweetness from the vas and a good amount of perique. you will have to dry it out though as w/almost every other mcclelland blend.

is that st. james flake or woods?
i've got a tin of st. james woods by McClelland open right now. not bad, it may be pretty good now that it's had a chance to breathe.

I've only tried St. James Woods. I like it, but am wondering how it stacks up against the other Va/Pers mentioned here.

St James Woods was the last McC I tried before I threw in the towel in on their VA blends. I really wanted to like their stuff but for me there's more flavor in a bag of Half&Half than there is in their VAs. I know they have a lot of supporters here but I only turn to them for latakia blends

Well, I took all three with me on my 14 hour drive (each way) to Banff. Having smoked at least 4 bowls of each now, I have to say that my favorite is the Escudo. St. James Flake is solidly in second, but I still enjoy the Fillmore. All in all, I'm glad I have all three, and I will finish the Fillmore, but I probably won't keep it in my rotation. The three VAPERs that I will continue to purchase/smoke/cellar will be the Escudo, St. James Flake, and Scottish Cake. BTW, Doyle I'm glad you enjoyed the package!

Order it from smokingpipes.com. Even with the shipping costs, it'll probably be cheaper on-line versus your B&M (or you could just pony up a $75 order and get free shipping!).
