My best friend is stationed in Iraq and would like some cigars. What are the rules/laws on shipping cigars overseas? I've looked everywhere online for that information but I haven't found any useful information. Any information would be appreciated.

Send em to his military addie by USPS. They reach the military PO & are then delivered free by the US military. Takes about 2 weeks. The cost is the same as shipping them to someone inside the USA. If you get an anal retentive post office worker that tells you they aren't sure you can mail cigars, they are full of :BS
You will have to fill out a customs declaration form. Don't send Cubans.
Don't forget to write.

Only thing I would add is pack them like they are going to be run over by a Bradley Fighting vehicle. Military personnel aren't to easy going with the handling of packages.
I have wondered this as well. Not just for international shipping but for domestic as well.
Everyone here seems to use USPS. Is that because of price or is it just easier to get things (ISOMs) through?

For domestic shipping, USPS is relatively cheap and fast with priority mail, free packing materials, can print labels online and has flat rates. It's a very convenient way to go. Once you decide to go international (in or out of the country), you are going to bring in customs. No choice in the matter, and you will have take your chances. They may open a perfectly legit package, reseal it (poorly) and send it on its way. USPS is the most convenient for me, but I'd still use UPS, FedEx or DHL.

Email Uncle Mikey at Mr. Bundles -- he ships cigars to the servicemen everyday. I'm sure he'd be glad to give any tips and pointers that he has learned along the way.

You can probably use the private postal service & get em there faster, but your gonna pay for shipping the package halfway around the world. The UPS people won't ship to an FPO because they don't really shake hands, so the USPS route seems to make more sense.
