I've been doing a little browsing and I came across this article by RC Hamilton explaining the general principles behind aging and thought it was a pretty good read. I did a quick search and didn't see this already posted so lets hope it's not a repost!

actually, we post that link quite often here.
normally when we discuss the "touchstones" of tobaccos.
if it's not in the list of pipe websites, it should be.

that particular link hasn't been posted, but the site gets referred to around here namely for its list of tobacco touchstones.

This is a very good site; it's jammed with great info.
