Brent gifted me a pipe as well as some samples of tocacco. This past holiday vacation I was finally able to sit down and fire it up.I have been reading as much as I can about pipes and smoking etc. before I smoked mine.BTW the FAQ thread is AWESOME-tons of GREAT info!! Thanks for the thread and all who contributed-it definitely helped me out. Anyway, I smoked a bowl of Danish Black and Gold. It seemed very light and mild taste wise, I'm sure as I slide down this new slope I will learn more about tobacco and their characteristics. But for my first bowl it was enjoyable and relaxing. My wife even commented that a pipe smelled alot better than my cigars. There are some techniques that I will have to work on and some things that I'm sure will come to me with time and practice, but for now it was a wonderful first smoke and I look forward to using my new pipe MORE!!!! Again, thanks Brent for the gift and the push! I also hope to learn more from the gorillas here in the pipe forum and maybe one day I'll be able to contribute in a positive way to this forum.
