Jon,
I've checked out the CAO website but it lists nothing for the Anthem. Is it the same blend as the regular CAO America [Potomac, Monument, Landmark] but in a larger size? Please let us know what you can.

Thanks!
Tam

Tam - The "Anthem" is a special edition 'A' size we've done for our CAO America brand that measures 8" x 50.

It's the same wrapper/binder/filler as the rest of the line.

At this time, the "Anthem" is NOT a cigar that is in regular production in that brand, a la "Potomac," "Monument," and "Landmark." The Anthems were part of an RTDA retailer deal and are being shipped inside CAO America Humidors.

Hope this adequately answers your questions.

CORRECTION: The CAO America Anthem is 8 1/2" x 50 (not 8 x 50).

The suggested retail price per cigar is $14.50.

Wow. Most B&M's are charging 20+ a piece. And selling the humidor for 130.

I remember your post from the one thread about them :)

That is funny, the America Anthems are cheaper in Canada.

Bringing this thread up from the depths because I just had my first America last night and I hated it. Boring flavor, the head of the cigar was rolled so tight I had to take a poker to it just to get a draw, the rest of the cigar was not rolled tight, so it was obviously a rolling issue. Burn once I got it going was uneven. I got halfway done and was so fed up I chucked it.

CAO is my favorite brand and I have smoked tons of Gold, Black, Brazilia, Anniv. Maduros, etc., so I figured the America would also be good. Boy was I mistaken.

See I like a lot of CAO's but most of the ones you named I don't lol. I like the Brazilia the best...the italia is good an the america is good. The gold, gold maduro, or any of the l'anniversare or crillio ones I don't like.

I guess it goes to show you everyone has different taste. :tu

I have one of the Anthems. It cost me $22.50. But I live in California, so I pay thru the nose for taxes. :hn

I've purchased a box of the America line, the Potomacs, and enjoy the flavor...and the novelty. Gotta say that it doesn't beat the Brazilia, but that's all taste preferences there.

And I agree with the tastes comment: it's what we like with our own tastes. I love the CAO lines but some of them, the Gold for example, don't thrill me. But if given the choice between certain cigars, it would be hard to turn down CAO and other brands. Especially with a bottle of Coca-Cola...and not the American-made-with-corn-syrup stuff but the stuff from Mexico made with sugar and in the glass bottle. Tastes like when I was a kid. But I digress.....:ss

I know this much about the Anthem -

Wife bought me one with the raffle the local B&M was doing - basically, $25 for the stick and a raffle ticket for the humidor.

She won the humidor :chk

I enjoyed every inch of that cigar. In fact, she bought another one (with some extra yummies) the next time she was there and sent those to me as well.
