ok so I just saw it again on TV and I have to vent.. if this is the wrong place to do this I am sorry but I figured it is a review on a TV commercial so I thought it fit.
Anyway, the Ikea commercial I am talking about is the one where you see the woman buying stuff, she gets her recept and looks surprised, then you see she running away yelling "start the car, start the car", next you see her and her husband driving away... so ya the prices are so low it makes you feel like you are stealing
This turns me stomach, and I am sure there are going to be a few people here that do not agree with me, but when I think a casher made a mistake on my bill I point it out. I bought some stuff last summer, the price seemed to low and as I was walking to my car I did the math in my head, turned around and went back in and explained to the girl (quietly) that she did not charge me right... I owed about $30 more. I give back the money when I get incorrect change. In fact I was at a casino in Montreal and my wife noticed this guy who was sitting next to her get up and a $20 fell out of his pocket, she held on to it and I gave it to the cage... I just can not steal
OK so this is not meant to make me look like a nice guy or anything, it is just me the point is this cemmercial makes me sick... I just wanted to see if I was alone on this?

It is never worth it to me. I am one of those people that always feel like things have to be right. I have made reciepts right, returned stuff when I didn't get charged for it, corrected things when I got the wrong change etc. It just makes me feel funny when I think something is wrong and I feel like I have to make it right. :2

I think the commercial is meant to point out their low prices with tongue-in-cheek humor. I do give back "extra" change given to me by cashiers, etc, so I completely see where you are coming from...but I think the commercial is meant to be "obvious humor", and not to condone stealing. :)

I understand that, it just gets under my skin. Walmart has similar commercials but they don't seem so bad... the whole "it's true" like ya don't worry you are not stealing from is the prices are that good "it's true" but that IKEA one... it just seems wrong to me, I just know to many people that would do that.
I know I like to make a big deal out of nothing, I am weird like that

No worries, sounds like you have the right ethics. :)

I was in a Woolworths one time and I noticed someone had put a $3 sale price tag on a $40 fishing rod. I guess someone was trying to switch tags.
I went to kid working the register and pointed out that this rod was priced wrong. The moron started to give me a hard time about it. He was saying how do you know that was the wrong price, maybe it is on sale.
So I bought it!!!

I understand you sentiment but that commercial is pretty funny to me . With the crazy look on her face and when she's screaming "WOOOOO , WOOOOOO" . The commercial obviously got our attention and that is what it was intended to do . It has been around for a while also :ss

It's just that every time I see it, it drives me nuts... if they did not have such in-expensive stuff I would stop shoping there just because of that damn commercial

This is before I swore off McDonalds. I had ordered some food, paid with a 10 and was give back change for a $20. Once I realized it, I called to find out if they were short and they were. I went on my lunch break and returned the money. I think I got a free lunch from them.
If only more people would do the right thing.

I'm with Tom on this. I think because most people are honest, that the commercial has humorous appeal in the irony of it.
