Cigar Ageing

How important is it to age a cigar? When I buy a cigar from I'm local shop it's already been ageing in there humidor for quite some time, correct?

What about cigars i purchase over the internet? Are they affected at all by the shipping process, or is a couple of days out of the humidor not going to harm them?

Many feel (including me) aging can be (CAN) be very important to a stick. Sometimes it doesn't have much impact sometimes it does.

Internet shipping is not a problem as they are shipped in bags and can be content there for possibly weeks as long as the bag isn't opened and closed besides how do you think the local shop gets them?

I guess that I'm more concerned about purchasing them from a shop. Say I'm buying a moderately priced cigar $4-6 (not some $20+ classic cigar that I'm saving for a special occasion), is there going to be any addition benefit from letting it sit at home in the humidor for a month or two or is it going to be pretty much the same as when I took it out of the shop’s humi.

Or does a month or two even matter, is ageing more of a several months to years process?
