Island South of Miami is what the acronym means (per a sticky). Now is specifically meant to be Cuba, or a more generic term. Not real sure after reading another thread.

It's exactly what you inferred. ISOM = Cuba, but I prefer just to reference those cigars as Cuban or Habanos.

Just disregard the silly acronym for cuban cigars. Who knows why people use it? It really makes no sense when you think about it. A cuban cigar is a cuban, havana or habana. Call it what it is, not what it may be. Last time I checked there are lots of islands south of Miami. ;)
