Cool! I have Rattle & Hum although I think it might be on VHS. I heard they're also working on album that will be out later this year.

Did they film this on the most recent tour? I saw them in 2005 and it was an amazing show.

Patrick.. thanks for the link. This should be an interesting one to see even though I lost interest starting with Rattle and Hum. The last time I saw them live was '88 Joshua Tree Tour. One of the best shows I've seen.

Yeah the Vertigo tour, which ran for just under 2 years - U23D on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U23D)

Don't give up on them. I wish I could've seen them back them, but I only got on the bandwagon in '95. A good friend of me schooled me giving me each album to listen to for two weeks one at a time starting with Boy. By the time I returned War to him I placed my order for their entire catalog and have become a huge fan ever since. I know many people lost interest around the same time you did or a little after, but now IMHO they are back close to the top of their game and seeing them live is truly a great experience. A few years ago I purchased what at the time was probably 98% of their complete catalog (singles, special releases, unauthorized releases, and more) I've seen them 5-6 times now and will continue to go every chance I get.

Here in New York there is a U2 cover-band called Unforgettable Fire" that is absolutely amazing. They sound and look just almost exactly like the real thing!

I caught them at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, Pa, back when they came out with Unforgettable Fire, I think it was. It was before 1985.

There was less than 3000 people in the Theatre and it may rank as one of the best shows I have ever seen.

Thanks for posting this - I thought that I was hooked when I first started listening to them, then I was BLOWN AWAY at their concert. U2 is my crack (or more appropriately my irish habanos) :ss

I haven't given up on them. It's just that I hadn't heard anything from them in a long time that really grabbed my attention.

Although I've only seen them one time, it was one of the best shows I've seen. They were about to start into Helter Skelter when Bono asked if anyone in the audience could play the guitar part. Some kid close to the front said he could, so Bono pulled him on stage. The kid was left handed, so he played the part left handed on a right handed guitar. It was pretty cool. Bono was quite impressed, but his ego took over too and he razzed the kid for the green cardigan sweater he was wearing. He was cool about it though, because the kid asked Bono if he could have his harmonica. Bono gladly gave it to him.

The same thing happened with R.E.M with me as well. After Green, I lost interest until Monster, then I lost interest again.
