Hey, gorillas! I realize I'm still a "Newbie", but I'm wondering which memorable cigar you had that "Kicked Your A**? Mine was a CAO MX2 I had last week that just about wiped me out! Great smoke, but I was wobbly from the:tu nicotine 'buzz" for 10 minutes!!! Let's have some fun and go down Memory Lane!!! Thanks!!!

LFD Ligero made me a little sick, nothing too bad, but a week or 2 later, and Opus X (which was the second stick of the night) had me wanting to die. Of course later someone told me about how sugar can help with that :).

This one probably came as close as any for me as well. But it quickly passed. I assume that's because I smoked cigarettes for SOOOOOOOOOO many years before, even though I've not had one since 1/29/01.

Im really quite a noob, but for me, the El Legend-Ario Corojo I had last night was the first to give me a nicotine buzz, knocked me down for a few minutes. Wasnt quite ready for it.

Opus X was really the first cigar that got me.
Being a cigarette smoker most cigars don't buzz me but that one did and I have been chasing the monkey every sense.

I don't recall the exact make, but it was a Rocky Patel. It was a blind buy when I first got into Cigars, and shortly before I got a humidor. I was very newbish, and let it sit out and dry out... it burned really hot, smoked it on an empty stomach... and made me hate life to the point that I almost quit then and there.
However, I've never been a quitter.

Padron 1926 Series No.9 Maduro - it wasn't my first buzz but it was definitely the strongest buzz...but what a fantastic stick!
It just so happens to be the #1 rated cigar of the year in this months Cigar Aficionado (Feb '08 - page 61) but a pricey stick to get attached to.

The first cigar I ever felt any buzz on was a Montecristo Afrique. Drank a coke blak along with the smoke.

Camacho Triple Maduro. I hadn't been smoking that long, and I smoked it to the nub. I was fine smoking it but went inside and it hit me HARD.

Memory lane, eh? Well... I got my a$$ handed to me by the strongest of cigars...
A MONTECRISTO!!!
I wrote quite the post. I was quite talkative, back in the day. Now I just sit and stare blankly at things with bright colors.
http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=63572
Since then, I've still not had a similar experience. And I can smoke 3 Monte's at the same time, inhaling each one to the nub. (OK, that's an exaggeration.) My experience was so unpleasant, and thanks to the advice I got, I haven't had a repeat. I've had a few STRONG cigars start to make me feel "off"... but if that happens, I now just slow it down... and I've abandoned a good cigar once or twice when I've sensed things were amiss. This has only happened when I've overconsumed alcohol, or when I've lit up a cigar seconds after the completion of a triathalon... you know, to celebrate.
Speaking of memory lane... I'm just looking at some of my old posts. Lol... things have changed a bit! Primarily, I don't give CBID $200 a month anymore. Heh.

First one that got me was a Camacho Corojo, made my head spin and when I looked at the computer everything was wavy
I'll have to let you know when it happens - since I've only been smoking for close to 40 years - I guess I'm due sometime -

Not so much. ;)

Anejo shark, soon after getting into cigars seriously. I just couldn't stop smoking it despite every indication things were going south rapidly. Also, it's likely pairing it with six or so beers didn't help...

This is probably gonna be funny, but a Dona Flor Robusto. Too cold outside and despite (or because) it's a tasty smoke, I was smoking it too fast. Deceptively strong for such a smooth smoke.

Some years ago, I (God knows why) picked up a Topper Old Fashioned Perfecto in oscuro. Bloody strong cigar had me green after about 1/4 of it and I threw the rest of it into the back of my pickup. Oy!
The next one was an Opus X Robusto ... cold sweats, a little dizzy and wondering if somebody had slipped a little ganja in there.

I can usually handle the Vitamin N pretty well, the JdN Antono's and LFD Chisels can get me a little buzzed if I haven't eatin anything in a while but that is a rarity however, I smoked an Edge Maduro Torp from the original blend one night and it had me on the couch. Now the weird thing is is that I had smoked this cigar numerous times before, it was one of my go to's and nothing ever happened but this one laid me out, it's the only time I've ever felt that way and it wasn't good.

First one I remember clearly, cause it was my first cigar, a Punch Elite Natural. I smoked it in 15 minutes. As a matter of fact, I have no idea how I kept with this hobby because of how sick I got. Second, one was a Camacho Corojo, and the last one that made me sick was a Tatuaje Cojonu 2006, which ironically is one of my favorite cigars now.

Opus X. I had heard little about these when I fired one up on a less than full stomach. Loved the taste and puffed away happily until I started feeling a little green then :pu.
I now make sure I have eat a little more before an Opus!

Don't laugh, but it was a Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real. It was a corona, and I had an empty stomach. There was absolutely no resistance on the draw and even when I tried to sip it, it still was as if I was inhaling lungs full of smoke! I didn't throw up, but the buzz was so harsh I had to go lay down! I still have another one in my humi, but I'm gun shy as hell about smoking it! Been in there over a year now.

Litto Gomez without enough in the stomach. Didn't kick my ass but did make me feel a little wobbly and gave me a bit of a hangover.
I have had a couple of multiple cigar nights that made me like that as well. Did a Cuaba, Rass, Fundadore trifecta that put me into the spins a little. Since I'm not a regular to the dark side that snuck up on me a bit. :D

VSG Spellbound. It had just been rated as one of the top cigars by CA in 2004 so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't know what "full-bodied" and "strong" meant in cigars since I had only smoked Ashton Classics.
Happened to be shooting vodka that night too. Passed out from the booze, woke up 10 mins later from the cigar induced vomit.
After all these years I still don't like VSGs all that much (except for original release Wizards).

A Padron #2000 kicked my ass last night. The guy at the B&M said it was a mild to medium cigar. I didnt know any different. First cigar in many months. All was well while I was sitting and smoking. About half way through, I stood up and it was over!
When I got my bearings back about me, I felt like crap and went to bed for the night!
Looked up Padron #2000 this morning, full bodied, strong cigar. I'll do my own research on cigars from now on and let the B&M guy lead the next guy astray.

I've only had two cigars kick my butt in the last ten years. The first was a 1991 Partagas Edicion Limitada Pyramid, and the second was the 80th Anniversary Padron Figurado that just came out.
Long time apart, similar butt whooping.
