Andy, just purchased (my 2nd) Xi, but this one is doing something strange. The two halves don't seem to lock up right when closed, so the cutter springs open again. I sometimes have to try a half dozen times before it'll close, though it has gotten better as I play with it. Is this just something that'll resolve itself with use, or should I send it to you guys for a check?

Hmmm, that shouldn't be happening:

Option 1: take it to your local retailer and have them switch it out for a new one. MOST retailers will do this but if for some reason the retailer won't:

Option 2: send it to us and we'll take care of it:

Andy, I just had a hare-brained idea... sending a PM to sidebar. Thanks!

Andy, shipping the cutter out tomorrow (Tuesday) via USPS PriorityMail with a prepaid return box as well, to expedite the return shipping. I was rather hoping you guys would just replace this one (since it's brand new), rather than wait for a repair.

I'll have a note in the box to that effect... I'd appreciate it if you could work it out for me. I'm kinda anxious... (gee d'ya think???)

Thanks!

Thanks! No need to try and expedite it. I sent mine in for cleaning/sharpening and maintenance and had it back in 5 days from when I sent it and just used regual USPS, no priority.
