I'm pretty sure thats the box the CAO Vision ships in. I don't think you can buy it separately.

I think they are pretty much back ordered and out of stock just about everywhere. Good luck on your search.

I bought a couple from Taboo Cigars - they will be here tomorrow (along with a bunch of other stuff). Looks like they still have some in stock. You can always call Rob and see if he can get you a box - he's a great guy.

Everywhere that I've looked they are on back order. I've also seen the humidor box, while its pretty cool, the one that I've seen didn't look like it would humidity that good. It could just be that particular box, hopefully not all of them were made to that boxes standards. Good luck on your search.

Cigar Bodega usually has lots of CAOs, don't know about the Vision though. Saw a half-full box over at Smokin Joes in Lewiston NY. You could probably make em an offer if you're headed that way. When the Vision was released it was a hot item with B&Ms selling singles and then the box for around $100, but I would think you'd get it cheaper. Why don't you call around Chicago and see if any of the shops there could hold one for you when you head that way.

I have one and it will not get above 63%. But that is where I prefer it. :ss

Aside from the novelty, do you guys think this humdior would have any collectible value going forward, or would one be better just putting the money toward a high qualty box like a Reed & Barton or other similar traditional humidor?

I think the boxes look awesome but I just think it is too small to buy for use as a humidor. I also don't find the visions to be my favorite cao and would rather not spend the high price for these particular sticks. But maybe you guys feel differently about this.

i've heard a lot of bad things about those CAO Vision humi's. it seems like they are either a hit or a miss. i've heard some that range from 44-mid70% rh and some that flux between 65-75%.

I picked up an intact box of the Pranas, just for the cool box, a while back. I sold it (intact) since it wouldn't hold humidity (mid to high 50s). That is the whole reason for a humi-box, so I contacted CAO and after a lot of BS I got another one (box only). It would maintain either (around 60%). I do think they are a cool conversation piece, but not for protection of fine cigars. That is, unless you get one that seals well...

I want one of those munkeebumpers.
I'd probably be more pleased if I just pimped out my own humi.

I got no less than two B+M's down here that have plenty Visions with the boxes. In fact my buddy bought about 20 singles the other day and the place gave him a Vision box.

I won one at the Perdomo event last Saturday.

It also came with a nice carrying case that I haven't seen pictures of.

As far as the RH goes, at the begining of the event, the RH on the box was 64%. By the end of the day with everyone opening it up, it was in the mid 50's.

I pulled the batteries out, opened the lid and put the whole unit in my coolerdor. I'll give it a few days in there and check it out again.

I saw these originally when they were unveiled at the RTDA a couple years back and must say was very impressed with the design and the pizzaz these humi's had.

Having smoked through a few Visions I found them decent smokes but the value really lies with the packaging. I hope CAO can find a way to fix any flaws the humi's may have as I really think they are a great thing to have in your collection just for collectabilities sake :)

Interesting because the same thing happens to mine. I was fortunate enough to purchase a box in Vegas at the Big Smoke. There was a separate cigar shop in town with a CAO event that had quite a few. He gave a great deal.

The box is very Star Trek. I have had to replace the humidipak once. But I noticed that the hygrometer does not go very high. When I contacted CAO, I spoke with one of their management. She was VERY helpful and was willing to replace the box and all. I said NAH, but was curious about the humidity level. I'm thinking about takinig the cigars out and just oohing and aahing my friends with it.

And BTW, I've only smoked one with a friend. A VERY nice smoke if I do say so. :ss

i have one of these humi's.
i remember the old lady saying she saw a humidor that lites up blue online. i told her that she was crazy, there's no such thing. than low and behold i seen it too! it reminded me of my old civic hatchback. it was all white with blue neons underneath the car, underneath the seats and the blue LED pedals. i had to have it!
after finding out that it was only sold with the cigars in it as one piece, i wasn't sure i would get one,not really into cao. i was looking on ebay for a while for just the empty humi, i think some where being sold for as much as $100 for just the humi,no sticks. funny thing is the whole humi including the cigars was going for only $200. i never got one off of ebay.
i got lucky when my local b&m got one in and was selling singles out of the humi. i begged my friend who worked there to ask the owner if i could buy it when they were all sold.
he kept his word and i got the call that it was waiting for me.
i love it as a convo piece but it doesn't hold its humidity, either that or the digital hygrometer is dodgey.
it is cool and i love it.
good luck and i hope you find one!

I've got an empty one I'm willing to deal for. I do not suggest these used as a humi tho. As said before, they do not generally seal well, but they are pretty cool! PM me if interested.

here's my jammy with some davi anni 3 tubos. they look pretty bad arse in there, but i took them out after i noticed the hygro wouldn't hold.

these humi's would have been alot nicer if they had been made out of something other than plastic. maybe ceramic or even a nice shiney waxed wood. but i guess for the price it really isn't that bad. i mean 25 cigars and a nice white LED lit humidor for $200 is pretty good, considering most cigars in that range of smoke just come in a regular box.
well i like mine, ill keep it around! lol

I have one of these boxes as well. I bought it for $50 off of Ebay and when it came I was slightly disappointed. It doesn't really hold that many cigars (it really isn't meant to) and there is a very flimsy cedar tray that covers the inside of the plastic base. I am using a Boveda 75% RH in it right now and it will not go over 59% RH within the humidor. I am going to use it more as a temporary storage unit to "de-humidify" my smokes for a few days before I smoke them. I would never use this CAO humidor as an aging humidor or keep my smokes in their for a long period of time.
