Hello Gentlemen,
Let me begin by apologizing. While it is important to me that you understand how things reached this point. It is more important that you understand how much I regret the outcome.
My initial intent was to communicate with those of you that were talking about nubs. What insued was the following:
This misunderstanding started because I was so overwhelmed with the positive feedback that the nub brand was receiving on CS, that I couldn't wait to get online and respond to some of you. So I signed up. I read some posts, made a long winded response to a post and I received a message stating that I had to wait 24hrs to post. I was fine with that. So the next day, I read some more, again I was emotionally overwhelmed with the excitement that most of you were having in regards to the nub brand. I wrote a long winded response to a post, and again was unable to post it, as my account was still inactive. So I wrote a long winded replied to my welcome email that I was having difficulty posting, and the PM was rejected as the welcome PM is auto generated. At this point I was just really frustrated, I just wanted to dive in and talk with you guys. So I looked for a way to contact anybody, and I found the "contact us" section sending an email to I don't know who...And I vented. And I shouldn't have. On the receiving end was Paul. He had no idea what I was going through, because I didn't explain it, as he saw it he just got an email from some jerk, so his response was to delete my account and the Oliva forum. From his standpoint, I didn't blame him. The rest is pretty much history.
This does not excuse my response, but hopefully it sheds light on how I got there.
These boards are very important to me personally. One of the major conversations between Jose Oliva and myself was the fact that I wanted to be active on these boards and provide sample blends and new concepts to board members. I take pride in being an outspoken advocate at the Oliva company for boards like this one.
The way board memebers rally to protect their board is a perfect proof that it is a community. Unfortunately, I was on the receiving end of one such ass whoopin'. I had it comin.
I hope you all know that I am one of you guys.

Welcome Sam.

:tpd: I agree that, as it was not necessary to do, it definitely helps us understand what provoked your reaction; as our initial understanding was less than admirable. I want you to know that a lot of us on the boards are very excited about your product. I love large RG cigars, I love spice, and I love the sweet spot on cigars...
There has been some discussion on whether the act of smoking is what makes the nub so sweet.... You have come to the thought that it is because of the better section of the leaf... Here is what I think... Both ways of thought are correct! The act of smoking, probably does make the flavor better, it is also the cut of the leaf, therefor if one was to have the better leaf the whole way... it will make the end even sweeter! I am super excited to try one of your dream cigars, and I know that I am not alone. Welcome back, and thank you for trying hard to get back on here and apologize, that in itself shows a bit about who you are.

Welcome to CS and we look forward to getting more info on your new brand.
They're very tasty. I was lucky enough to run into Ian(Oliva rep) and he had his personal sampler box with him.
After about an hour of interrogation and using a few other persuasive 'technics' on him, he let a few of us sample one of the pre-release Nubs.
It was a great cigar.

Hey Sam,
Often times in a medium such as internet forums & e-mail; it is tough to really convey your thoughts, actions, & desires. I applaud you for "manning" up and telling your side of the story and the resulting email. It is understandable.
Your participation on this board is much appreciated. There are not many venues by which consumers can talk directly with manufacturers. I hope to see & try your new line of cigars soon.
Welcome back!

Further proof that "things aren't always what they seem." You provided an appropriate, fitting explanation, and all that's left to be said is welcome, and we're glad you're here!

Welcome Back Aboard Sam! Good to see things got worked out and thanks for your intro post to this thread. I work in manufacturing (not cigar manufacturing) and it gets frustrating if you spend time doing something and it "disappears" repeatedly especially when time is at a premium. Good luck with your new venture. :tu
