So playoff baseball is upon us. only one slight problem. My Phillies are home for the year, having won 88 (14 games over .500) games and losing out to the Astros by the narrowest of margins, while the Padres are in the playoffs having won only 82 games (2 over .500). Anyone else find this annoying. Sorry to any San Diego fans out there, and to any Philly fans who have yet again had their hopes raised to only have them smashed. :c

I love the eagles, but the Phillies are my team, and they showed more heart than any national league team this year in my opinion. The season is only a few hours over so i have a pretty fresh wound.

i love all philly teams, but the phillies didnt show that much heart.. i mean they BARELY had a winning record in september..15-12 is not gonna cut it, when you are trying to catch up to the divisional/wildcard leaders.. it is going to be an interesting offseason this year.. with the thome ordeal, wagner.... ed wade has to go..

Bill,
I can certainly understand your frustration. However, the Padres deserve to be in the playoffs. The divisional structure afforded a team (any team) from the NL West a berth in the playoffs. With trades and free agency, that could change next year and there could be another "weak sister" division in MLB.
If the system were to be truly fair, then the divisions would be disbanded and the teams with the 4 best records would be in the playoffs. We know that, because of the almighty dollar, that will NEVER happen. Heck, when I was growing up, there was the AL and the NL. The winner of each played in the World Series. Period.
We Padre fans will root passionately for our team but deep down know that we will likely get bounced rather quickly - but you just never know.

GO PADRES !!!!

Things could be worse. My Tribe won 93 games. Just lost 6 of the last 7. Now we have football to look forward to. :BS

Well, hell, I've been doing "if only" stuff for about 20 years with the Astros, so I know how you feel, but the ball lands where it lands.
