Oh I see how it is... You talk about spending some quality time at Angelina’s in Warsaw. I get my hopes up that I might be meeting the BengalMan. Maybe even prying one of those Nubs out of his nubs.... and what happens!? You hang around Indy during the week when I can't even make the three hour drive. My God man that's cold! I'm a little hurt. I'm going to go smoke a FUENTE or something and pout!

Tinderbox
Charlotte, NC (Hickory Event)
I have always wondered why they have these over-priced events in Hickory when there is a pretty good b&m in Hickory, and it isn't Tinder Box. Hickory is over and hour and a half away from Charlotte and the nearest Tinder Box and there are 4 GREAT b&m's in between. :r
The Cass's think they own NC.

I'd be thrilled if there was an event within even one thousand miles of the Pacific Northwest! I know that not everyone can be served, but this is being dissed on a whole new level!
I hear CigarFO has something like a Nub...

No events in Atlanta, or even Georgia? (as far as I can tell from the list)
I will be in Atlanta from may 26 to may 30 (and then in NYC for a couple of days before going back to Sweden), so having the chance of attending a NUb release event would be great!
Which event is the closest to Atlanta? (I'm not really good at US geography...)
International release won't be until september, and in Amsterdam ( which is not that close to Stockholm..), so I hope I at least will be able to find NUbs in stores when I go to the US!
/Pac - expect that the NUbs are exactly what I want, thick and fullbodied.

June 13
Uptown Cigar Co.

Both of these are probably the closest to Atlanta... Knoxville is a straight shot and slightly closer to Atlanta, but either will do.
Surprised there's not an Atlanta show... Hmmmm....

But still a.. 3 (?) hour drive from Atlanta, or something like it?
Could be a problem as the girlfriend is not at all interested in cigars (or to happy about me smoking them.. :/ ).. and besides, it is two weeks after I leave Atlanta, so I'm out of luck anyways...
Oh well, it's only a cigar launch... :(

Thats simply because tax free NH is the best place to buy cigars lol. I am sure I'll make it to at least one or two of the events.

Some of you are sitting around debating on a 3-hour drive to a "regular" cigar event. Hell, I'm sitting here wondering if it's worth the price in gas for me to drive to my local B&M 10 minutes away to pick up one to try. This marketing has the average aficionado frothing at the mouth. Sheesh, I thought the embargo lifted for a minute there....Are they THAT damn good or what?!?
I'm sorry, but the amount of marketing and hype surrounding this cigar, I mean c'mon. ALL of us have had the thought of trying to cut a normal length cigar in half to try and get to that sweet spot quicker, so the "new" size doesn't exactly have me rushing to the airport to fly to the nearest launch party. Again, are they THAT damn good or what?!?
- Garilla
PS. Not trying to be greedy, but Florida, home of the original Cigar Town can't manage to wrangle one stop on the (now) infamous tour? What did they think there were no cigar smokers down here? Somehow I'm thinking those folks in Amsterdam have a slightly tainted palette...:w

IF you haven't tried one, try one. You can't say its all hype unless you've had one, and you didn't like it. Different strokes for different folks. I for one have loved the few that I've gotten to smoke. So much in fact that I bought two boxes, with a couple more coming right behind those.

I bought 5 of each style wrapper at CI (buy 4 get 1 free) and have smoked one of each so far. They are actually pretty good. At the price point I would continue to buy them but if they go up in price I have others that I like more.
BengalMan
04-08-2008, 06:47 PM
You are correct Poriggity. Cigars are no different than beer, coffee, or almost anything else, everyone likes different things. Some people claim the Nub is all hype but have yet to try it. Others thought it was hype, tried it and loved it. Others have tried it, didn't like it, then chalk it up to hype. In the end, everyone's tastes are different. My suggestion to everyone is pick one up and try it. The price point won't break the bank and if you like it, you found a new cigar to enjoy. If you didn't, then you live on to smoke something else the next day.
