A bit rhetorical, but as a newbie looking for a trial pipe, I came accross this supplier, and thought this would fit the bill.
I then found another supplier doing same/similar for $113 for 100.
So is this a true pipe in the sense of being "smokeable".
The opinions of this group would be appreciated.
ebay item : 5433768746
Further I've seen a couple of Estate pipes that appeal, what should one do with to ensure good hygiene, if you purchase one.
Thanks in advance.

There are posts on the web as to cleaning for estate pipes. I think a minimum of a good stem soak in bleach would be in order ... or 70% ethanol. There are special pipe cleaner products around too ... dunno much about them. That meer looks nice, free shipping ... you can't beat the price. A lot of people prefer the smoke from briars .... it is definately different, but meers supposedly smoke cleaner (less impact of wood and cake .. since there should be no cake buildup).

If you soak in bleach remember to put a dab of petroleum jelly over any inlays or logos. :D

After looking a little closer at that pipe I'd recommend staying clear. The bowl is a little on the small side. A more realistic size would be around 6"x2". Drop me a PM with your address and I'll pop over "lightly smoked" meer for you to try.
