Well today was the day I started my long journey to the "sandbox" I will be posting here when I can to keep ya all updated. I now have the software for my camera, so in a day or 2 I will be posting pictures. Today I left Baltimore, MD and ended up in Ft Benning, GA. I will be here for about 1 week, then off to Kuwait for 2 weeks. Also just wanted to openly thank Tim D. for kindly getting up way too early in the morning to get me to the airport on time. When he got to my house he slapped me around with a nice RP stick for the road. And then he had the nerve not to accept anything from me for gas, which is quite expensive. But little does he know I have friends in CS (I hope he doesn't read this, it might tip him off). Anyways I just wanted to start a blog type thread for all to follow my journies and make comments when the urge arises.:mn

Just spent a week in Camp Victory, there is a nice smoke shack by the internet cafe- you can't smoke while you post, but this is the next best thing.

If you end up in or travel through LSA Anaconda, shoot out pics. I'd like to see how it's changed since '04...

Well another day has come and gone. I am getting so sore with all the training, but it is done now. All that is left for me is to pack my bags and climb aboard the plane to Kuwait, for my next stop. I am still trying to get pics out but could not take my camera out due to the weather down here in Ft. Benning. But things should change after Saturday. ANd just to let you all know I got the second highest score with my rifle:gn, which just means either I got lucky or everyone else really sucks:D. Type more later when I arrive in Kuwait. My first Day time in Kuwait, and it's a tad warm here. I'm just so glad that my tent has AC. I am looking into wireless service so I can use my own laptop and send pics. They say they should know where I am to go on Monday. I will let you all know when I do. I hope I get there fast also, private stock running low.:mad: I was at the PX some sticks in a case that didn't look too humidified so I am leary of em, but may have to break down and try em. But all is well and just going through the hoops to get the job done and back to the states. Take care and TY for all the support.

My last smoke on US soil, for a while anyways. It was in Bangor, ME. And no my face doesn't always look like that. My face looks that way cause I just woke up on the plane. My smoke of choice was a tasty DP Black label.

It's a chilly night in Kuwait, about 80 degrees. So I'm bundled up in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt to sit outside and enjoy a Cuesta Rey Tuscany. I found em in the PX and not dry, to my surprise. I found out that I was training with th wrong tent so I might be here in Camp Buehring fo a couple of more days yet. Yhey still do not know exactly where I will be going. BUt who cares with days only about 104 degrees it's like a summer vacation here. All the free food and water a person could want. When They think that I will be going to Al Salim just north of Bagdad. When I finally find out I will post. Have a great day back there in the cold cold climate there.:chk

Just found out today that the Army lost me since I got here at Camp Buehring. So now I have to wait till they can fit me in to the training cycle. I've gotten real good at eating and sleeping since I been here. Oh yeah and smoking a stick or 2 around 10pm or later here. It's just too damn hot to sit outside during the day. It gets upto about 110 during the day and down to the mid 80s or so in the evening. Personal internet is sparse around here but I get on at the USO tent when I can. One thing thatt I can say for now that I need is baby wipes. They usually get bought out as soon as they hit the shelf. I hope soon to have a APO and a permantent duty location. But for now 14 days down and 235 days to go. I can almost see the end.:D

Well I made it back to Ali al salem to head out to Balad. But after 18 hours and 2 flight cancellations I'm begining to think that Iraq doesn't want me:mad:. If I don't get to start doing my job soon I might not have to worry about PTSD, cause I'm gonna have a case of the A** or PMS. But at least they are feeding me well. Just had my first and last Kuwaitie Big & Tasty from McD's here. It was McNasty. I'll just stick to the DFAC there I can't complain cause it's free. :chk

John called me from Kuwait last night! What a surprise to here from him!! He said he couldn't post for a couple of days but it looks like he found a connection.

He is out of cigars :mad: but he told me when he gets to where he is going he will give us an address so we can take care of that.

Sergeant Smoky gave me direct orders to take on a dangerous mission: Go to the Davidus Cigars store in Urbana, MD and get a signed picture from the June, '06 Playboy Playmate, Stephanie Larimore. Yes, it was tough duty, but by God somebody had to do it and I was just the man for the job!

Sarge had the mission planned to the last detail. Just as I got to the front of the line, my cell phone rang and it was him calling from Georgia? SC? Anyway, the guy's gotta be psychic (or is it psychotic?) So I gave the phone to Ms. Larimore and she spent about 5 minutes talking to him about.....say, ......what DID you two talk about for so long Sarge?? We may never know.:D

I hop a chopper flight Tues to Ashraf. That will be my final destination for my deployment. Well I finally got time to use the computer. I can say that this company that I am attached to Stinks:mad:. I was brought over to be t truck driver and I now am pulling gaurd duty, looking at dirt, for 12 hours a day. my schedule is 7 days on 1 day off, which is when they want me to do PMCS, fill sand bags, help in the DFAC. The rest of the people that are here feel the same way. But at least I have friends out there. Also in the Haji shop they say he has good ISOMs there, I will have to investigate in the next couple of days. I might even have a fresh rotissiere dove one of these days, if I can find one big enough to call a meal. Anyways enough about me complaining, it could be worse. I could be going into areas where I get shot at. At least here I am reletivly safe. Even though I wear my 1000lb IBA. And all the bullets they gave me:gn:gn. So I will fill you all in later with more details. I think that next week I will be on convoy to Balad. When I find out more I will find contacts there.

I have started a new thing. While I am guarding the dirt, I find time to run a functions test on my weapon :gn. And some times I get fresh dove meat to BBQ over the dirt that I am guarding :D. This unit leaves in August. I am not sure if I am to carry over to the next unit coming in or if I go home early. If I can find a unit where I can go out and drive I would like to stay. THis place ain't too bad, and the pay is pretty good.

I just got the package from Tony (newcigars). And it was delivered with armed guards, it was so valuable. And it came on the perfect day, it's my first day I didn't go out to watch dirt. I could not believe what I saw when, the box that was bustin at the seams, I opened. KABOOM !!!!!!!! I think the blast was felt down in Kuwait it was so large. Pics will be posted in a while after I upload them (kinda slow here).

Same ole, same ole. Just hoping to see clouds one day here. Dirt is still in the same place, except when the wind storms come through. It's hard to get the slant of the dirt devils when they roll over my point. Not much to do around here since we work 16 hours a day:mad:. Dove hunting is not going to well I think that I might have to resight my weapon:gn. But I will get at least 1 before I leave here, got lotsa time left to do it:confused:.

I just got back from our road trip to Balad. Golly did I spend some some cash there. One of my purchases was a box of Cohiba robustos. They were really dry so they are resting peacefuly in my humidor. I did get a 16qt cooler also. Good thing cause when I got back home I had another surprize from Newcigarz (Tony). Which fit just fine. Here are the pics of the sticks. There were also numerous other comfort items in the box also.
