View Full Version : Peterson Pipes
Where do Peterson pipes rate on the quality scale? Found one I really like but don't know much about the various pipe companies. I don't want to spend more than $100.

In terms of overall quality, probably the only agreement by smokers about Petersons is that they're not the best and they're not the worst
Some of my favorite pipes are made by Peterson. I like the Peterson "system" and their "p lip"; I don't think they take much time to break in; and they hold up very well.
I always recommend Petersons without hesitation. I have quite a few of them and have bought some for friends. While I do have a number of pipes that are much more expensive than my Petersons, but I usually reach for one of them when I'm sitting on the couch and just want a nice smoke.
On a side note, if you're ever in Dublin, be sure to check out their company store. Amazing selection of pipes!

The Petersons I have all smoke very well. I do like like the P-lip. I don't care for the "system" pipes, however a friend of mine smokes nothing but systems. I don't remember break-in to be a pain with any of them. I think most of these were in the $60-70 range. Hope this helps.

My favorite shape is the 999. This would do nicely. :)

My first pipe buy was this year. Peterson Harp bent. I love it. When you bring that out it just says class. There are some nice pipes out there but the overall look of this pipe is exceptional.

I am currently smoking a Peterson. Bought it about a year ago and really enjoy it. A lot of my early frustration was due more to my poor filling and lighting technique.
i just sent you a PM (or two) in regards to this.
CHECK OUT THIS XMAS SPECIAL ON PETERSON PIPES AND TINS (http://store.pipesandcigars.com/peprehoinre.html).
they also have the 999 that Jeff is creaming his jeans over, but that is only available in the Special #1, which is a bit more spendy.
ooops, i just found the 999 someplace else as well.... like HERE. (http://www.knoxcigar.com/pedoro999pl.html)
