I had my first ever RP 1990 last night...it was pretty tasty, but I had high expectations going into it, and they were not met. I might have to give this one another try, as I think part of the problem was that I was not in the mood for this flavor profile. It always amazes me how much mood can influence the taste of a cigar.

The last one I had that really blew me away was a Paddie 2000. I hadn't had one in a few months (when I first started smoking) and forgot just how good they are. That and the fact that I think my pallate has become a bit more refined and able to tolerate the heavier smokes. :w

I haven't had time for many cigars recently, but I was impressed with a Flor de Oliva Corojo that SeanGAR sent me. When I smoked it, I didn't even know it was a bundle cigar - just thought the flavor was quite nice but the burn was really funky (it was even worse than uneven - started burning in a spiral at first). Might have time for something better tonight...

I agree except that I'm not a fan of the Corojo. I'd rather have the maduro's, but the FDO's are one of, if not the best bundled cigar I've found.

As I write this I am sitting here on a cool night in central Florida, laptop (where else) on my lap, and i'm smoking a Gurkha Regent Toro. Just finished a La Gloria Cubana Serie R No. 5 maduro. First for me, and a GREAT SMOKE! I got the recommendation SOMEWHERE in the forums, thanks! Looked to have lots of plume on the wrapper (if I'm seeing that right) TASTY! :p Was a bit of a hard draw about half way down and burn unevenly near the start after a good beginning. Just got them in yesterday and prolly could have spent a few weeks resting. Oh well, got another 4 and looking forward to them.

Last night in a newly opened Cigar Lounge with good friends and a good Crown Royal!!

I read somewhere (probably here ...) that smoking Cigars is all about the 3 C's ... company, circumstances and cigar.

Last night proved that to me ... the first two are as important as the last one!!!

HDM dark sumatra ebano. I tried one of this line that was a larger ring guage and it was good, but didnt seem to have alot of flavor. The ebano however was really good, tasty wrapper. My first experience, I believe, with a sumatra wrapper.
