View Full Version : IHT Made the List (Barely)

Secret Pipe Santa
12-21-2005, 01:02 PM
Well, it looks like, despite the frightening avatar, IHT has once again made the list of good little boys and girls. Unfortunately, the elves that Santa uses to produce some of his finest goodies for pipe smoking enthusiasts are running a little behind schedule. Santa placed an order with them as soon as he found out IHT was on his list and is still waiting for a little brown truck pulled by reindeer to deliver that package to him so he can send it on. Santa will make every effort, however, to make sure that all the good little boys and girls receive their packages by Christmas.

In case you're curious, Santa will be delivering your package from a state that, when it was admitted into the United States (note that we're still not so sure that this whole "union thing" was a good idea at all), came in with the provision that it might be split into four more states (for a total of five). Thankfully, that never happened because such a division certainly would have had a negative effect on our grand but delicate egos :D

i'll have to do some research on the state question. i just covered this in history class as well....

well, i have no clue off the top of my head, i deleted all the PMs with who had who, and the person who originally had my name was suppose to switch with someone so i wouldn't know....

mid post, phone calls... cutting this short.

i'm guessing texas on the split into 5 states...
big enough.
they have enormous egos for no reason other then the state they live in is big.
i've found remarks on the net about it, "I believe that the treaty Texas signed with Union in eighteen-whenvever it was allows Texas unilaterally to split itself into five states..."

so, i'll go with texas. since we have so many Texas ppl on here, i have to figure out how many texans are in on the SPS, then go from there.

first guess: that would be the initial SPS i was supposed to have, CameronCouch02.

i'll see if i'm right the first time before i go any further.

Nope, not Cameron. That would have been way too easy. He pawned you off on someone else in the Lone Star State--I think he was intimidated by those freaky eyes in your avatar. Ho ho ho!

Next hint: CC02 approached me to trade with him during our discussions about splitting a cigar order.

hmm... well, uh... i haven't been paying attention any topics regarding splits.

and i dont' want the easy way out by just going down the list of guessing the next two. that would be a cop-out.

i'll give it a go later tonight.

Greg, I'm glad to see it got there in time for Christmas. I hope you enjoy the tobaccos. Penzance, Celebrated Sovereign, and London Mixture are three of my favorite blends.

i brought the leather pipe holder, pipe tool, and the ashtons celebrated sovereign to work with me (and my Stanwell Brazilia sandblast). i even smoked a bowl on the way back from lunch... BERY GOOT!
thank you very much-o. i just have a thing for those "oriental" smokes (similar to my step-son and his oriental girly movies i keep finding downloaded on my other home computer).

just wanted to say that i've since tried the dunhill and the ashton oriental... both were nice, and i ahve the ashton at work in one of my stanwells.

the dunhill is pretty wet though, but tastes good, a little more mild in the delivery, but the flavor is still there.

the pipe tool is at work with the tobacco...

have yet to figure out which pipe to use the Penzance with - i've been trying to finish off the rest of my cigars (down to 5 now i think - be on the lookout in the WTT/WTB/FS forum).

haven't had the other oriental, if it is one, as it smells similar to a light aromatic.... just ran out of pipes to use it in, but i do have a few meershaums laying around...

thought i'd update you on how things are going.
i'll have to look at that link ScottM provided with how to pack a pipe with flake tobacco - never done it. i was lazy and only bought the cut tobacco before...
all part of the journey.
