This is my first attempt at reviewing cigars and being a fairly new smoker, I'm not yet an expert so all you LLGs please bear with me.

Cigar: LGC-WM
Shape: Robusto
Price: $2.64
Date Smoked: Feb. 14, 2001
Overall Appearance: The wrapper was dark and smooth with an average "coat".
Quality and Construction: The feel was a bit soft however the draw was perfect.
Aroma and lighting: The aroma was nice and mild. Lighting was easy. There was also a slight coffee aroma.
Taste and Aftertaste: The flavor is mild to medium and consistent throughout. There was only a very slight bitter aftertaste. Towards last third of the cigar, it became spicy peppery but not very strong.
Burn and Ash: The burn was almost perfect and even while the ash was a bit grey but firm.
Would I have another: Yes
Did this satisfy my desire for a cigar: Yes
Did I get my money's worth: yes
NOTES: This was the third Wavel Maduro I smoked from a box I got 2 weeks ago. The first 2 almost had the same review. However, I had to throw one away because the draw was too easy and it won't stay lit. It was like sucking air through a straw. I also noticed that some of the cigars in the box were very soft and you could see from the foot(?) that filler leaves are loosely bunched. Although the color and wrapper texture was consistent throughout the box, the length was inconsistent (differences of about fractions of an inch). This is the first time I've seen this inconsistency in boxes of different brands. The cigars I got was made in Florida.

Cigar: Padron 2000 Natural
Shape: Robusto
Price: $2.56
Date Smoked: Feb. 13, 2001
Overall Appearance: The dark wrapper wasn't attractive and looked average but overall look is OK.
Quality and Construction: Perfect draw and feel. The rest of the cigars in the box seemed to have the same construction quality and consistency.
Aroma and Lighting: Very distinct aroma which I could not describe. I immediately noticed this when I opened the box and all I could say is it smells so good. There was also hints of coffee aroma after lighting the cigar.
Lighting was also easy and even.
Taste and Aftertaste: Flavor is perfect and consistent througout. It became spicy and peppery on the 2nd half. There was almost no aftertaste.
Burn and Ash: Burn was very even while the ash was firm and grey.
Would I have another: Definitely
Did this cigar satisfy my desire: yes
Did I get my money's worth: You bet it did
NOTES: I decided to buy and try the Padron 2000 after reading the reviews from top25cigar, same with the LGCWM. I also received this box 2 weeks ago together with the LGC. My verdict is I like the Padron 2000 much better than the LGCWM although the LGC is also a good cigar for it's price.

Most interesting thing about the Padron is my wife, who absolutely hates cigarette and cigar smoke, said the aroma was fragrant.

After having smoked the Padron 2000 and reading BJ's review on the 3000 and everyone else's good comments, I've decided to buy the Padron 2000 Maduro and 3000 Maduro.

The whole padron line is great in my opinion. I can't wait to try the new 5000. I would have to agree with you that they aren't the most beautiful cigars out there, kind of rustic looking, but man do they smoke great.

odell,

My experience is similar to yours. I have a box of LGC wavell maduros also. A very nice flavorful smoke. But I agree that the Padron has a full flavored sassy personality that puts it ahead of the wavell.

My LGCs came from the DR. I haven't had any construction problems.

Great reviews..... rjs
