I have owned one of these Elite CEOs for awhile now. I am very familiar with Colibri, some of you may rember I was selling some in here not too long ago. I bought over 200 Colibri lighters and sold them. Most people either love or hate Colibri.

The Elite CEO is a flint lighter. It has a built in double-guillotine cutter. The flame is a traditional soft flame. This lighter has some heft in the hand. It feels of quality. The flame is adjustable on the bottom by a small screw that can be done with just a finger.

The cutter works great and the blades are replaceable. The lighter is made of solid brass that is coated with different color options. I have the gunmetal and satin silver one.The only major flaw I dont like is the frame of the cutter is made out of some type of plastic. Not that it dosent work or anything, it just seem to cheapen the lighter.Unless you really touch and inspect the lighter you would never know it was made of plastic. I do like the fact that I dont have to carry my lighter and cutter seperate.

I have never had a problem with it at all. I did change the flint one time. It has a large tank that last a very long time. Out of all the Colibri lighters I have had or used I think this is one of the best they offer. It retails for $100.00 to $150.00. I will be glad to answer any questions. RJT

I've had my eye on one of these, mostly for the all-in-oneness factor.

On EBAY recently for $56.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Colibri-Elite-CEO-Cigar-Lighter-w-Cutter-NEW_W0QQitemZ6254227615QQcategoryZ11678QQssPageNam eZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Commonly in the low $90's. Here are some current EBAY auctions for the CEO Elite. (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=so&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&maxrecordsreturned=300&frpp=50&from=R10&satitle=colibri+ceo+elite&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D2&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&sabdlo=&sabdhi=&saprclo=&saprchi=&so=Show+Items)

I'm still partial to my US Navy Zippo with a Z-Plus insert, but that requires my carrying around a cutter.

Would love this as a gift.

Nice review.

Yep, if you look hard enough on Ebay you can find some deals. I just got another Dupont Xtend for $50.00. I think my CEO is the best Colibri going. RJT

I've had a Colibri for about 3 years now. The first year or so it was fine. Then it stopped working. I threw it in a drawer until 4 weeks ago, and set myself to get it to work. I had to increase the arch lenght for it to light 25% of the time. I've seen cheap $10 butane lighters work better.

I have no flame control, and my Colibri has to be set to full flame for it to have a chance at working.

I've resorted to using a big match lighter

Its a butane lighter, and I fill emptied it out and refilled it with premium goodness. Works like a charm, and its great to pull out in a public place and recieve a
WTF?

While those do look like nice lighters, I just can't justify spending more than about $10 on any butane torch lighter, because I know it will go out on my in short time.... If Im gonna spend big $$ on a lighter, it better work for my entire life.

I've got two of these, it is by far the best lighter I have. The cutter works fine although I agree they screwed up by making the handles plastic. It is one of the few lighters that seems to always refill without needing bleeding. Holds a lot of fluid and has two TWO candle flames that really surround the cigar foot. This is a great lighter that anyone will love. I've had mine for over a year, changed the flint three times (I use it a lot) and it functions flawlessly.
Two thumbs up on this one.
