View Full Version : Wait to smoke mail ordered smokes?

Does anyone else notice it seems to take mail ordered smokes a week or 2 to become smokable? It seems everytime I order a box online they are so so at first, but given some time there is a drastic improvement? Is this all in my head, or does anyone else notice this?

We all agree with you my friend. Try (if you can) to hold off at least a month before toasting new stix to give them time to get over their shock of travel.

I alway's try to order mine next or second day air, less transit time to mess things up.

Welcome aboard. I don't know what you're getting by mail, but if they're worth smokin, they're worth holdin. Just a suggestion, a humble suggestion, but I wd stop thinking in terms of weeks and start thinking in terms of years. Best way to get in touch with the la la low land.

I shoot for two weeks sleep time and if there were any weather extremes (rain, cold, hot as hell) I give it longer. There is just no way to know what kinda crap they have been through in that long journey.
I keep plenty of well rested smokes ready so I can keep a puffin while the newbies sleep.:w

I always smoke one ASAP to get a taste for the cigar.....If I like em, I keep smoking em. :cool:

Two weeks or more sounds like a good bet...I usually wait about a month just to make sure everything is alright....especially if they are Primos.
Some companies like Arturo Fuente actually ship some of their cigars to stores with built in Humipaks (inside the cigar boxes themselves), then plastic seal them. Hence, they're supposed to be smokeable immediately. Of course, one must consider the outside temperature also.
