Just woke up at my girlfriend's mother's house, and even wierder, she has wireless.

Anyway, I'm chatting it up with her mother over some brandy while my better half is asleep; her mom is great, a night owl and an artist. However, I am pining for a stick because she lives on a hill with acreage, and a great night time view of the stars and city, and a fabulous porch. Ideal cigar setting, but I just had my gums worked on, and my periodontist says no stogies or pipes for a week.

I am way new to cigars trust me. But years on cigs and they do the same thing. As do straws. Get healed up before ya light up and ya be ok.

And cool winemaking. I do beer here. Wine takes to long for me :)

Viticulture is pretty fun. I must admit - I originally started it as an easy elective credit and simple way as an over-18-under-21 year old to get ahold of some quality wine. :p But it is become quite fun, I can see myself making it a hobby a few years down the line.

The really fun part is in differentiating the tastes, which sounds obvious, but it really does wonders for the pallette. My appreciation for taste has increased quite a bit with the courses, and that makes everything from chinese food to cigars a whole lot better.

Anybody else feeling the Christmas spirit? It hit hard today, so will be a long week. Lookin' forward to Christmas dinner this year, gonna try a standing rib roast. I haven't done one before.

Not quite midnight here yet but heading off to bed. Didn't get to bed until 1am this morning and had a few late nights before that so it is catching up with me.

Still up and just bah hum bug here :) But yano why. Works for me tho and still all kicking around.


Doyle slow and long is the best way for what ya cooking. And when done let it rest for at least 20 mins before ya cut into it. Resting does wonders. I seen more things pulled out hot and cut open and ruined where a 20 min sit would work wonders. It does make a difference.


Will give ya a call Saturday or Monday. Depends on when package shows up here :)

Banter banter. Rain forecast for today, so no roofs scheduled. All packages are mailed. Gonna pick up the grandson's new bike today. Can't wait to see his face when he see's it.

Grocery shopping maybe for rest of christmas dinner stuff. Menu looks like this right now -

Smothered green beans (w/bacon, ham bits, onions)
Twice baked stuffed potatoes
Fruit salad
Rolls
