New to the Cigar world and looking for a good smoke. Were having our first baby (boy) soon and I wan't a couple of good cigars to pass out after the birth. I've so far only tried Cubans, some good, but some to strong a taste for me. I'm looking for something a little smoother with good taste. Any suggestions would be welcome. Price is irrelevant, but I wan't some in the high end and some at a better value.

AVO classic #2or #3, Opus X if you can find them, or Fuente Hemmingway line. If you are going ISOM, you can't go wrong with Montecristo

Agreeing with all the above...I have to second the AF Hemingway's for the occasion. Good stuff.

Cubans that have been too strong?
"a little smoother with good taste"
OK I can understand that one..
For simply smooth pleasure try a Padron Aniversio Natural Toro
(To me one of my favorites for a smooth smoke)
A bit bolder, Padron Aniversio Maduro (both of these are real pricey.)
I think if you go for the Fuente Hemingways you will be real happy.
Yet for cigars to pass out.. To me it would depend upon whom I was passing them out too. If they are not regular cigar people stay with a mild profile / lower cost smoke.
Cant go wrong with Maria Mancini Magic Mountain torps. (great priced smooth to med body gar)
If they where your smoking friends just about any Hemingway series cant be wrong. Especially The Anejos, now htat is a fine and smooth flavorful gar.
