I am new to this board, I am 19, and I have been smoking cigars since my 18th birthday. I really like them a lot, but i am a weekend smoker.

The first box i purchased was some Sinatra Churchills from Thompson's, I thouroughly enjoyed them and am considering buying some more in another shape (belicosos). I thouroughly like Macanudos (doesnt everyone) but i find them somewhat dull, maybe just a little too mild.

A friend went to Panama a few weeks ago and brought me back 25 (10 of which i sold to a friend) Bolivar Belicosos Finos. I really love thse, but they are just a little too full bodied for all teh time, also I want to age them.

I recently bought 2 boxes of what I would call Off brand cigars, from Thompson's that I really like so far. I bought Miraflor topedos, smooth relaxing smoke, perfect draw, good construction, a really wonderful cigar, and for about $2 apeice, quite good value. Its no Romeo y Julieta, but it is damned good.

I also go some Nostalgia Coronas, which I enjoy, but am not completely impressed with. the draw is a little tight, but not bad. these babys stay lit perfectly though. An excellent choice for the golf course.

I think my next purchase will be the "lucky 7 humidor" from thompson's, for $150, to give some backup to my 50 cigar desk humidor. I am looking to expand my stock of cigars, and while I love teh super premiums, i simply couldn't afford to stock a bunch of them in a humidor, and I would have reservations about giving them away and smoking them myself.

What do you guys like for middle of the road cigars that cost maybe $50-75 per 25? What woudl you reccomend? I like medium bodied cigars, but have never really tried maduros.

Thanks.

Gary,
Welcome to the club! Stick around and you will learn alot from these old geezers! ;) As to the type of smokes you enjoy, I can't really help in that department since I really enjoy full bodied smokes but I'm sure some of the other regulars will be more than happy to help you out! Look forward to reading your posts! :7

Welcome to the jungle Ray. Like filly, I prefer full-bodied smokes, so others here will be able to help you more on the milder ones. Unlike filly, I AM one of the "old geezers." ;)

Welcome to ClubStogie.

"...middle of the road cigars that cost maybe $50-75 per 25?"

Although many to choose from, here's what I would buy...

Padron 2000 maduro or natural
Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 maduro or natural

welcome to the club... like flipflop i too am an old geezer, but unlike flipflop, i still have my youthful good looks and can still turn the women on. another good smoke in your price range is el rey del mundo robustos- the tissue wrapped ones. they come in a variety of sizes (regular, large and xtra large) and i think onepyrotec has some of these for sale.

deathray...you need to know that robmcd has two Ph.D degrees ... one in Math and another in "pure BS." }>

In addition to teaching, he has an appropriately named business on the side. ;)

I will recommend the following in your price range: Puros Indios, Cuba Aliados & Rolys. If you can, try a retailer where you can pick up a few singles of the toro or #4 sizes in Colorado shade wrapper.

Welcome! Looks like you've got a very good starting point from all of the suggestions so far, so I won't add to your confusion.

Welcome to the board!

I will second two of the earlier recommendations; the Fuente 858 Maduro and the Padron 2000 Maduro, both very good cigars for the $$$:)
Another you may want to try if you can find them are the Joya De Nicaragua Antanio 1970 Belicoso, it's about a $4- stick, very good too.
