I know this has been written about, but I just wanted to add my take.

Just got the book--"Encyclopedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars" by Min Ron Nee. Fantastic! This book really seems to be best resource of information of havana cigars available. Decent quality photography and printing. Extensive listings of every brand including all the discontinued lines. Nice commentary by the author regarding taste profiles and recommended aging periods (Although you won't want to smoke a cigar that is less than five years old if you read this) Tons of information on packaging and manufacture. Imagery of lots of limited edition humidors and jars. Histories of all the major manufacturers and info about current market share and business. This is a necessary book for you if you are interested in this subject.

The MRN book is a straight from hell- it gives you detailed notes and pictures of cigars that are very obscure. This causes massive influxes in your credit card bill .

Damn you Min Ron Nee, Damn you to Hell!!!! :c

One thing with MRN, he like every cigar pretty much. Great reference guide and looks good on top of the Aristocrat...

It is not very pretty on the outside, but it is :dr on the inside. If there is a better reference guide out there I don't think it has been found. It is an asset to the novice and experienced collector alike.
Thanks for the review.

Good review-ive been very interested in this book, especially after the disappointment of many other so-called Habano books.

I just received one about two weeks ago. I've already read it at least five times and I have a listing of cigars to get that will cost me about $2000

What the hell, the more I think about it, the more I hate that dam book!

I haven't made it past page 15 yet and I'm already impressed :dr . Good review of the book. Time to register for the 'undocumented' credit card. Anything to keep my wife from beating me back into reality.:hn

i think this book is essential. it keeps you from buying boxes you might not like by staying in the zone of flavor you like. it also gives you confidence to try some obscure but great cigars that don't get the press they deserve. well, well worth the price of half a box of cigars. the downside it does make you want to have a multi thousand cigar collection.
