I'm smoking cigars for more than 5 years. But after I joined in clubstoogie, everything has changed positively.
First, I bought a 100ct desktop humidor, after a few months, I bought a 150ct small cabinet/display with glass door. But this was not enough as the experts sad here. In this summer, my cigars saw 30C Celcius - 86 Fahrenheit. This was crazy. As I haven't an aircondition in my house, I've decided to buy a wine cooler. We don't have Haier, Danby etc in my country, so I've found Samsung winecooler. But I'm confused a lot, cause all of the people here are using them with a johnson temp controller for stabilizing the tempereature.
Anywaym I've bought it, I've also bought some %70 beads from Viper ( thank you again Dave ), and started it by placing my collection in it immediately. I traced Mr Maduroo's advise by spraying the boxes before my beads came here.
The conclusion ? Well, I don't have a temp controller, cause this coller is incredible ! The temp is rock solid stabil at 70Fahrenheit / 20.5C and the humidity is between %67-70
Following again MrMaduroo's advice, I've placed all of my 3 remote sensors inside boxes and saw that they are not influencing from the temp/humidity swings. And I saw that my cigars are really CIGARS now. They have changed completely. I don't have any burn problems even my go-to smokes now.
I strongly recommend this excellent cooler if you can find it in your area. Hope this small review helps

That is a beautiful arrangement, and it probably helps with the massive heat in Istanbul! I was thinking of setting up a similar arrangement wherein the condensation from the coils would drip into a bowl of beads. Do you have any condensation issues with the Samsung cooler?
Also, that is a LOT of beads, but probably for the best given the climate. I have 1/2 lb in my coolerdor now, max temp for me is 76 degrees.

My not-even-close-to-expert eyes tell me that not only is it a lot of beads, but they may be too thick. What you want is more surface area so the water can be absorbed when needed and dispersed when needed much better. So that equates to thin layers or small amounts all over.
That said, there's no such thing as too many beads, only two few beads. As long as they have enough surface area, you're OK. You won't have to refill the beads as often with extra beads.

his beads are alright. those containers the beads are in are about as think as vipers 4oz tube.

Nice stuff. FWIW, beads (piled too deeply or not) or oasis foam/PG seem like an unnecessary expense or bother with a well sealed cooler. A fine distilled water misting of a few squirts/month keeps mine right where I want it. If overspraying ever gets the humidity too high, leaving the door cracked open for a few minutes a day works it down.
Glad your results are good - very handsome looking swag pile.

I payed $600 around, but as I see that you are from UK, this cooler exists also in your country. And the price is about the same, I googled this cooler and found it in Italy, Germany, France and UK
There was also a very big cooler made in Turkey but it was very ugly, was cheap too. This unit is really handsome

Yes, Istanbul is very hot and the humidity level too. For the condensation ... There is a small hole in the back of it but it's impossible to overflow it, I think that it's working like a closed-circuit system. As the inside temperature is 70F, the water drops will begin to vapor, and the beads absorb the excess, so I will not need disttilled water I think. I bought this 1 month ago and never saw a humidity and temp change during this time. I put the beads according to Viper, I gave him the dimensions of the cooler than he calculated my needs

Your experiment in the coolers helped me too much, I want to also thank you from here. Putting the remote sensors in the boxes is very very good idea. You can see how the cigars feels itselfs

That's one heck of a lot of cash for a cooler that size. I think I'm going to go with another model which is under 2 bills. I'll probably end up getting two of them so in total, I shouldn't be too much over about $450 (after buying beads for them as well).

I was wondering why a pacific-rim produced product cost so much in Turkey. That sounded a little stiff. Must not be much competition for wine coolers in a Muslim country. Must not be much wine in a Muslim country, come to think of it. Is this true, Fish'ing?
(By the way, if you're a coffee drinker, would please tell us some authentic Turkish coffee and Ibrik stories over in the coffee forum?)

Heh, well, Turkey is a very strange country. Although we are muslims, The vast majority of the people drinks Turkish Raki and Wines. We are the biggest wine and Raki producers in the world believe me. But we are not well educated. We are storing wines badly, we don't have any idea about wine coolers etc. We are always coming behind others.
I'm a coffee drinker but I always drink coffees from Mayorga coffees ( Ethopian and Nicaraguan ) Turkish coffee is incredibly tasty and very different than the others but it's very difficult tp prepare it. When you come to Turkey , we can gladly prepare it for you :)
