Just finished Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich. Quick read. Its based on a true story about a group of MIT students who made millions in blackjack through card counting and shuffle tracking. I play blackjack quite a bit (I live 20mins from two casinos) so I loved it. It reads more like a spy novel than anything else, but it also gives a pretty good idea of what card counting and team play are like for people who arent into blackjack. Im making my girlfriend read it so she can better understand my vice....if only I could get her to understand cigars too.

Great book, very impressive, seems like they did puff a few cubans with some NBA players. I attached the below link about a fellow who took a liking to slot machines. Interesting enough it is titled, " Pulling down the House"!

hope that link works, if it doesn't LMK, I'll try another way, it's in a archive so I do not know if the story is still stored.

just read that Kevin Spacey is making a movie out of the book in 2004. Hopefully it will be pretty good.

Ben Mezrich is a great story teller..
Great book. I just hope the movie doesn't bastardize the book.
Highly recommend it.

History Channel, Sunday at 9pm if anyone is interested in the story. I believe the show will be based on the same group of students.
Spacey is still working on the movie and is also making a film based on another Mezrich book, Ugly Americans, about American stock traders in Japan.

I will be soon. I really enjoyed bringing down the house. I play blackjack pretty often at the local casinos and I was able to relate to that book quite easily. It really captured the fantasy life that can be created when you always seem to win...and the pitfalls that that life can have.
Oh well, back to the casino.
