Been poking my nose around and wanted to know if anyone can give me a definitive answer or at least a educated guess about this mysterious cigar. I have heard all kinds of crazy stories about this being the maduro opus, that the cigar is all opus with a connecticut maduro wrapper that was aged in cognac barrels. Sounds fancy, have a couple from the 1st release kinda stout cigar if I recall but everyone seems to rave about the 1st release and act like the 2nd ed. are turds. They say that the 2nd go around wasn't aged as long and wasn't done with the "fancy-fancy" cognac treatment. Me not having the sophisticated palate as some smokers could not tell the difference except that the first ones seemed a bit stouter. (Hmmmm hints of sweet pears and peaches with a vanilla finish :P) Just wanted some opinions from the gorillas who have tried both what they think and if they know the some history on the smokie. Thanks in advance. LVL3

I don't have any idea about the cognac, but I do have a question about Anejos. I have a box of No.48's, how can I tell which release they are?

I bought them 3 months ago, if that helps.:)

The 1st release just had clear cellophane wrapped around the cigars the 2nd edition had a cedar wrapper and redfoot with Xtra Vigoroso or something along that lines stamped in gold on the cello. I think the box presentation stayed the same. Hope that helps. LVL3
