simply put, IMO it is the GREATEST FN MOVIE EVER MADE. Monumental battles that didn't look fake (a few scenes were slightly so) good versus evil done like no other movie has ever come close to. shows what the true meaning of sacrafice and friendship are. i traveled the gamit from tearing up to banging the arm of the chair until it became loose (sorry lakewood 8). A truly great movie. I know when Elijah Wood said it was better than the first 2 put together i had high expectations. They were surpassed exponentially. if you like the first 2 wait til next sat so you might have a chance of getting into seeing it. they had 2 rooms for the movie , we preordered the tickets and heard folks being turned down (full). my 15 yr old cousin is pretty bright.

Ditto that, and it's nostalgic for me, I thought it was by far the best of the three, it blew the others away without thinking and I can't wait to see it again. and again!

That trilogy (JRR Tolkien) I heard has the most printed copies of any book in history second only to the bible. (and the bible has a couple thousand years head start : )

Saw it Saturday. GREAT FILM.
Has all the makings of a great Epic & IS thebest of the three films.
WOW, must see it again.
Heck, Didn't really want to spend my money on the other 2 DVDs but now looks like I'll be buying the whole set when it becomes available just to have this third movie.

and don't forget that a nation wide poll of college lit profs voted LOTR trilogy as the greatest books of the 20th century so Jackson had a decent plot to start with, lol.

i just read a ton of reviews at yahoo and the anal guys that swear by the books give the movie a D or F. some guys just don't understand that novel based movies are not made to honor the author but to make money. i have seen several movies that didn't do total justice to the book but zeeeesh.

I agree, it was AWESOME. I can't wait for this one to come out on DVD. What a great job Peter Jackson did. Even if it does not follow the book entirely, it is a great film, and the best of the three! One of the best films I have ever seen.
